Can I wear this frock

With the purple heels on the same page?

5' 2" size 14 large of nork and arse. Tummy and legs knee down okay.

Country house wedding. Is the black okay?

Good might be over-stating the position. They are okay Smile.

Need a bit more height than the Kate Spades I think. Like the idea of a burnt orangey colour however to go with the Reiss dress which is current fav.

Like these babies?

I think all of your choices are lovely except the Reiss which looks really cheap because you can see all the hems and seams. The chiffon looks stiff and coarse.

Your first choice would be my fave.

www.johnlewis.com/334294/Product.aspx?SearchTerm=RecentlyViewedList any good?

www.johnlewis.com/356347/Product.aspx very pretty and probably flattering

and this would be my choice
www.johnlewis.com/356526/Product.aspx but it's navy blue,

MrsLettuce · 21/08/2012 12:43

Oooh, those are lush! Fear they might overpower the reiss dress though. Do you like these too? they might flatter it more. red snake? very, very simple but a great colour

gomez · 26/08/2012 20:14

Reiss dressing very disappointing. Is quite shapeless and looks cheap. Going back Sad.

Back to first Hobbs one I think. Am away with work this week to a Proper.City so will try to find some spare time for shopping.

Thanks again.

this is vaguely similar but looks more structured

MrsLettuce · 26/08/2012 20:26

and it could take those shoes you loved (these ones) much better than the reiss...

gomez · 26/08/2012 21:21

Oh Mrs L you are good. Me likey. And it is bargainous Grin.

I'm losing the will to surf however. And have only until Friday to sort myself out.

So, I'd say you need to go to emergency mode. Calmly.

How about ordering the mint velvet dress, and back up to the place you're staying this week? 'Your' shoes too, of course (they'd definitely work with it) and a good bag how about this?

Back up wise, I'll have a rummage if you think that's a good plan. The same sort of shape? You're a green redhead rather than a red redhead, right?

MrsLettuce · 26/08/2012 22:08

green or raspberry, depending.
blue, also red and navy. all would take those shoes and the clutch for before.
halter neck is very flattering on our broad shoulders, bolero (pashmina in one of the greens also very good), petticoat

gomez · 26/08/2012 22:20

Yip defo green not red. Phase Eight green one is nice. Quite grown up so would need some statement shoes I think.

Ruby Tuesday too much pattern. But do like the retro one. Not so sure the measurements would work for me would be far too big in bust to fit my waist I think.

Mint Velvet ordered. But I'm away Tuesday through Thursday so will defo need some back-up time in the shops whilst away.

Or I could of course just wear one of the many in my wardrobe - but really where is the fun in that Grin.

Thanks again.

Good luck, I hope the mint dress fits; together with the Kurt Geiger stiletos and the French Connection clutch you will look AMAZING much much better than the original Hobbs choice x

Brandnewbrighttomorrow · 26/08/2012 23:23

oooh, I love a dress hunt Grin

pretty neckline, would need to see the fabric

Or teal

Have you had a look at the matches sale?

MrsLettuce · 27/08/2012 00:02

Yeah, phase8 is always 'nice', never really inspiring. I fear it might be frumpy.

biba, couple of puttons open, slim silver snake chain, black sandals, black clutch, easy! Forgiving cut, no problem at least 1/2 a size either way...

gomez · 27/08/2012 07:31

Oh Brand new you have great taste - I have a v. similar LK Bennett from a couple of seasons ago for work however.

Mrs L I feer you will lose heart your description sounded fab. but fake animal print I can't do.

Right, I am going shopping. Completely forgot today was a Bank Holiday - in Scotland so kids at school and not so many people off work so lack of excitement meant it had slipped me by. DH reminded last night. Doh. Blush.

gomez · 27/08/2012 14:51

Okay purchased this if anyone is even faintly interested looks fab

Now need shoes.

Mint velvet was baby pink in the flesh and quite skater dress short.

Original Hobbs favourite was okay.

So glad you found one you love! Have you found shoes yet?

Saw this and thought of you Smile
