Another thread about boots

I need some new boots. DH will buy for my birthday and he'd like to get me some expensive ones as it's a long time since I've had anything remotely fashionable. I seem to have been pregnant or nursing forever (we've 3 children under 3.5).

But I've so little time to shop, I was hoping for some suggestions for a short list at least. Ideally that you can buy in selfridges or online...

They are to wear with skinny jeans or dresses & opaques or leggings.
My style is reasonably glam for an at home mum with so many children (today felt like hundreds), but hmmm about 3.5 years out of date, and I'm hoping some new boots will bring me up to date.

BUT they've got to be flat. I can't be arsed with heels. And look ok with quite skinny ankles.

Can anyone help?! Thank you for any links.

Bumping for you and marking my place. I also need new boots for skinnies/dresses. Nothing too formal and I don't mind shopping Smile. Can't wait to see the suggestions!

Sundae come back! Those links are all taking me to one pair of Ash black suede ones which are very nice but I'd be interested to see your other ones please.. Can you bear to re-link?

Black or brown, am easy will probably buy both

Main thing is comfort, those Ash ones are lovely but could I stand in the park / chase a rugrat for hours on end in them?

I bought these a few weeks ago. They are smarter than they look imo because they have a pointier toe than you can really see in the picture. I've mostly been wearing them with dark skinnies and they are really comfy too.

Cake they look fab, thanks. Are they as flattering as the knee length ones the site also shows? Could you / do you wear with tights and dresses too?

I'm going to need help weaning off higher boots and onto ankle ones... But these look a good way to start, thanks!

Thank you so much!!

I LOVE those Etty ones. Nice with dresses or just jeans? I wish more sites showed them with an outfit, like the NAP Gucci image, so useful.

The search starts here and so far Hudson Etty are the ones to beat Grin Did you say they came in black too? The brown are gorgeous.

Here they are in black. Definitely nice, but I prefer the brown, I think

I know what you mean, I have always gone for knee length boots for dresses but with the wet summer I decided I needed something to keep my feet dry and knee highs were too wintry so just went for it. I do think they are flattering, they seem well proportioned too; I think half my problem with ankle boots has been that the foot seems so long when boots are short.

I love them with jeans and have tried with opaques and a couple of dresses and liked them and will wear them in autumn but do think it will take some getting used to as I kept looking in the mirror and wondering if it looked weird!
