Anyone know of an eye make up crayon that won't tear my eyelids to pieces, but will stay put?

I like to have a thin line of colour (green) around my eyes and like the smudginess of a pencil. I can't be doing with little bottles of liquid that require artistic talent and a steady hand.

Trouble is my crayon line only lasts an hour or so before it 'melts' and smudges and makes me look a complete mess.

Anyone know of a crayon that will stay put?

Urban Decay pencils are good. Don't know if they do a green though, sorry.

Molehillmountain · 19/08/2012 00:37

It's a bit pricey, but I have had an Estée Lauder propelling crayon for ages. It's really soft but only smudges when I do it deliberately. Can't think of the name but they'd know what you meant at the counter!

No7 Pencils are very good. They are soft and smooth and last a long time, even on my greasy lids! (make sure to powder eyelids first). They do 2 different green ones. If you get it with a no7 voucher it's only £2.25.

Pelicano · 19/08/2012 08:00

Yes, Urban Deacy do more than one in green - the khahki one is lovely, the other is a bit bright for me.
I tried a Barry M eye shadow crayon recently too and was impressed for the price.

I was told that most are following suit and bringing out a waterproof liner,it just takes time to have a look through.

Avon Glimmersticks. Cheap, but amazing - I have never found anything like them. Usually on offer for about £3.

NarcolepsyQueen · 19/08/2012 08:03

I have found your solution! I am usually a total slave to Mac, but the BEST eye crayons around are Barry M at Superdrug. They have a gorgeous green waterproof eye pencil (I have bought one in every shade as they are so amazing!). You HAVE to buy one!

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 19/08/2012 08:35

Another one for Urban Decay here. I have one of their eye crayons and it's fab. You can blend it like a shadow as well and it stays on all day.

FellatioNelson · 19/08/2012 09:25

I have an Estee Lauder pencil which is very soft, but not too smudgey. I think this is one of those things where you get what you pay for. Cheap eye pencils are hard and scratchy with very little actual kohl/colour pigment in them.

FellatioNelson · 19/08/2012 09:29

What is Urban Decay eye shadow like? I saw a really great colour palette from them the other day - loads (about 12 I think) of lovely blacks, browns, greys, taupes and creams all for thirty quid, but I resisted because I can't bear cheap, hard eye shadow bricks that don't blend properly and I had no idea what the quality would be like - often those big palettes are full of cheap product.

FellatioNelson · 19/08/2012 09:31

Also, recommend you get a MAC eyeshadow primer - I use the little pot of cream called 'Painterly'. It's fab - you dab it lightly over your eyelid first (it's sort of skin coloured - well, my skin colour anyway!) and it 'sets' the pencil or eyeshadow so it won't crease, move or wear off.

laracroft2001 · 19/08/2012 09:32

Urban decay 24 pencils. And they do a couple of greens. They are amazing

FellatioNelson · 19/08/2012 09:33

I second No 7 - excellent quality for the price.

Msarsebiscuit · 19/08/2012 09:50

Another vote for Avon - Glimmersticks come in a vast range of colours and Supershock Gel liners are hands down the best eyeliners I've ever used ( Supershock better than Bobbi Brown in my opinion )

RubyrooUK · 19/08/2012 12:31

Yes Urban Decay here too. I've tried everything from Mac to Chanel and can't beat them. Never tried the Avon ones though....starts Googling

GetOrfMoiUsain · 19/08/2012 12:36

Estee Lauder doublewear kohl pencil is brilliant - is a bit pricey ( about 18 quid) but is not scratchy and either stays in a firm line or will smudge, but then after a few mins it 'sets' and will be there all day.

After years of scratchy crap pencils I love this one.

Fellatio urban Decay palettes are great - the eyeshadoes are really good wuality and I have a few of their palettes, they last for ages. I think what you're on about is the Naked palette which everyone raves about.

RubyrooUK · 19/08/2012 12:51

Oh, I have the Naked Palette from Urban Decay. I find it very good - lots of pigment etc.

BellaVita · 19/08/2012 12:54

Sue Devitt!

I have a fab green one.

You can buy SD in Harvey Nicks or on QVC.

spanishring · 19/08/2012 13:03

Laura mercier caviar sticks

lisaro · 19/08/2012 13:08

As said before-no. 7 are very good. Or have you tried gel pencils?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/08/2012 13:26

It's brilliant, fellatio. I use it just about every day and it has totally replaced my beloved Mac Shale.

FellatioNelson · 21/08/2012 23:41

Yes that's the one - Naked. I will buy it then!

  1. Doublewear is the EL eye pencil I was talking about Getorf - it's great. Fprogive shite typing, I'm using my son's laptop which has an arabic/enlgish keyboard and it's all different to mine, plus I'm typing in the dark.
