Is this a big no? I have really fine wispy sad eyebrows, I fill them in every day, and thought I might try this anyone had them done ?

Mil had tattooed eyebrows done in early 80s looks great in old photos, not a good look 20 years on. Be careful.

Devora · 18/08/2012 22:03

Apparently you can get semi-permanent ones done, that fade over 4 months. I have no idea whether they are a good idea, but I'm rather tempted myself.

donotsquandertime · 18/08/2012 22:12

thanks semi permanent sounds good, 20 years bit scary

I know womeone who had it done. Think it could have been semi permanent. It didn't look good and I couldn't stop staring at the brows.

Devora · 18/08/2012 22:31

Oh dear, another dream shattered.

WoodlandHills · 19/08/2012 09:46

Oh god I would LOVE this done

For some strange and unfair reason my eyebrows are blonde thin and sparse, despite the hair on my head being thick and dark Confused

They look fab when I have dyed them but that lasts all of about 5 minutes and probably ends up making them thinner as I don't think it can do any good dying them all the time.

RindersGoesForGold · 19/08/2012 09:49

I know someone who had semi-permanent brows done recently & they look fab. I guess you need to be careful who you go to.

donotsquandertime · 19/08/2012 10:50

thanks--more confused than ever now Confused also keep hearing of hd brows which seem to be a certain shape?

It really depends on how skilled the person is. I know someone good in the Edinburgh area, if you pm me I'll give you her details.

donotsquandertime · 19/08/2012 13:32

Thanks "willybreeder" but I am in the midlands so bit far out.

Is that what Coleen Rooney's had done?

donotsquandertime · 19/08/2012 13:58

think hers is more"scouse brow" which I gather is very black over sized brows and even on blondes which looks bit too much

Yes, when I think permanent makeup, I tend to think 'scouse brow' Hmm

As long as it's natural looking and matches your hair colour, it'll look great!

Birdsgottafly · 19/08/2012 14:33

I'm in Liverpool, but i dont do the full scouse brow.

Semi pernament can be done to the shape and colour that you want, then a top up is offered after about two weeks (at a reduced cost,or sometimes free), which can take the colour deeper and change the shape (if you want to).

You then have top up when needed, or can get them to come off quicker by using cheap face wipes.

I statrted getting mine done because i don't have full eyebrows, they do make a difference and can look natural.

HD brows don't fill gaps, if the hair isn't growing, then semi pernament tattooing is the way to go.

Thanks for info Birds - just need to find someone near me now

I had this done a few years ago - I have no eyebrows at all (alopecia). I really liked it, it was done pretty subtly. My advice is to research carefully who does it and look at lots of before and after pics to get an idea of their work.

Willybreeder - you mentioned you knew someone in Edinburgh you could recommend? I'm in Scotland now, just wondered if I could pm you for the details?
