Body Contour Wraps to lose some inches?

I am going on holiday next week and am carrying a few extra inches.

My local salon offers a 'Universal Contour Wrap'. Has anyone had anything like this - and does it have a decent effect? It promises a reduction of 10 - 14 inches after the first treatment but I don't know how many points are being added up to make those inches.

I remember my sister had one before her sons wedding and she reported that it did have an effect that lasted for 2-3 days. Do have to say that she's tall and very slim anyway so I don't where she lost the inches from!

Never had one, but my understanding is that the loss will only stay for a couple of days, as you will put the weight back on as the cells rehydrate. So more use for a big night out than a whole holiday? Possibly I'm horribly off the mark though.

I considered one last year, an measurements were: arms (x2), upper thighs (x2), lower thighs (x2), hips, waist, under bust, over bust, think that was it. So 10 measurements in all.

Hmm, not looking good then. What else could I do as a quick-fix. My gut is huge!

I'm not a total lard-arse. I do regular exercise but eat too much Sad

Spanx?

I used to know a pharmacist who made up a concoction for the local beauty salon. It was basically fullers earth and cheap sunflower oil. Maybe this is the exception but really. If I measure myself now and again in an hour I'd prob get different measurements. Would that it were so easy to lose inches.....

I had one last year (to fit into a slightly too tight dress for my hen-do) and it didn't work. The therapist measures you in about 12 different places on your body, arms and legs and marks the place with felt pen. You are measured again in the same places but to be honest it felt like she held the tape a bit looser before the treatment and tighter afterwards, so it made a greater inch-loss difference! It was a very unpleasant hour too, lying in cold, wet bandages neck to feet, so tight you can't even lift a drink to your mouth, and took me about two hours to warm up afterwards.

A waste of time and money in my opinion, but maybe that was just me.

Oh god I had one of these a few years ago

It was .....humiliating

And then I was wrapped so tight I could barely breathe, it was so claustrophobic

If any inches were lost it was probably through sweating with sheer embarassment
