Hair dye question

I have dark purple hair. What colour is my hair likely to turn if put a bright red on it?

I tried google but it was no use. I'm going out Saturday night and my hair needs dying but don't want to it to turn out horrible.

dropout the red in that pic is the red on the box of dye. My hair is dark purple. I will put a before and after pic up so you can all see the difference if there is any.

I'm sure there will be a difference OP, you always do take a risk with dyes as one person's hair may react very differently to someone else's. This is why I always feel I have to add a disclaimer if I give advice!

It's red! It's a dark red but I like it.

As I was drying it it did look orange!

It was orange looking aftenor we washed it out. My friend was laughing and I was panicking but once we dried it then it was fine.

I'm so glad it went well. It's brighter on the roots but I'm not fussed about that.

Lovely. That's the kind of colour I was expecting. Hair always looks a different colour when it's wet, mine looks blue and orange when it's wet but it's white when dry
