I have bought this dress which is a massive departure for me (ie it isn't black!) but I'm told it looks nice. I plan to wear it with black opaques and huge black suede platforms. I need a bag to go with it, possibly a clutch or one of those with a little wrist strap. Should it be black or should I go for really bright pink maybe? Or something else?

Oh and what should I wear over it? Just a little black shrug thing?

Don't tell me it's hideous, because I'm already a bit scared of it! Ta.

I wouldn't go for a bright clutch but how about cream (to bring out the light bits of the dress)? Something along the lines of this?
I would forget about the black and go for a nude platform similar to this

Fab dress. Absolutely gorgeous. I wear this kind of syle a lot and think something with a vintage edge would look amazing and give you your own spin on it, iyswim. In the absence of vintage stores in your area, I always find Accessorize is good for vintage inspired numbers. How about this . The dress has art deco surface pattern so don't be afraid to mix it with another pattern because it totally works :)

Syle???

Doh!

Lovely dress :)

I think ujjayi's suggestion would look good with it.

Thank you all. I like both of those bags and never would have thought of River Island. I've already got the black shoes, Popcorn, so would prefer to stick to those - I have even done a test run to check that I can walk in them! :)

I like the sound of a vintage-esque bag but the Monsoon one is more than I want to pay really. I've got a dusky pink suede Gucci handbag, with tan leather trims: might that work? Probably not actually. A plain black clutch is boring, I know, but I'd use that a lot I guess.

Any more ideas v welcome. :)

Either way, sounds like it's going to look great :)
