Do you think I can do anything about these shoes from Russell and Bromley?

I posted this in Chat but think I should've posted here!

I bought some shoes from Russell and Bromley for a silly amount of money in May of this year. They are still in the box. They are too tight for me. Blush I keep wearing them around the house to try and break them in and make them more comfy but it isn't happenining.

I have the receipt but on the back of the receipt it says that refunds/exchange will be given with a receipt within 28 days of purchase.

If I take them back now do you think they would do anything for me? I absolutely loved the shoes but I know I can't wear them. They cost such a lot of money that I don't want to just end up with no shoes. I am happy to swap them for another pair rather than have my money back but not sure if they will do it if they are more than 28 days old.

I doubt they will swap or exchange shoes for you now - sorry[

I would put them on Ebay if you can't swop them.

You could always ask - they will probably say no but it's just possible that they'll say yes, and there's no harm trying.

When (realistically) they say no you could either get them stretched or put them on eBay.

I know it's not the same shop but I got a top from Next in May. I kept trying it on and wasn't sure. Decided to take it back last week thinking i'd get £4 or something for it as a sale price but it was still in stock for A/W and I got my full £30 refunded on a card.

I wasn't expecting much but thought it was worth a try. I had my reciept and I have over a month late for their 28days refund policy.

I'd try it and see. If not ebay.

RichTeaAreCrap · 11/08/2012 20:49

Yes, I will have to go and see what they say. It's mad because without the receipt they wouldn't know when I bought them - it could be less than 28 days ago.

I will go and ask anyway and see what they say. Thanks for the link ivykaty, I will have a look at that.

If you paid a silly amount of money for a pair of shoes that somebody else had been wearing arou d the house for 3 months would you be happy?
Put them on eBay

RichTeaAreCrap · 11/08/2012 20:58

No nancy I don't think I would. I know exactly what you are saying. But I suppose its only the same as buying the display shoe that hundreds of people have tried on in the shop. I know its not right really though. It's my own stupid fault for buying them thinking they would stretch.

Well I took them back today and spoke to the manager in the shop - he was really good and said that I have had them too long to have a refund but he was happy to exchange them for a pair of the same value or more. Although they didn't have shoes of the same value that I liked, there were some a bit cheaper so I ended up with 2 pairs by adding a bit of money towards them.

I was really impressed by their customer service and quite shocked that they offered to do anything.

Wow that's brilliant - well done Russell and Bromley!
