And MiM please don't feel down, you are gorgeous and it will back to just as you were soon (if not already).

blue2711 · 12/08/2012 13:26

Ouch to your poor DD and poor you too mrscb. I can hardly believe DS has made it to 3 without a trip to A and E, he is such a little daredevil. Tempting fate stupidly there aren't I?!

Sympathy mim. I had a most miserable experience with a brightly lit changing room and a swimming costume recently. I blame the lighting and the heat and bet you look lovely really.

We had lovely night out last night and I loved my outfit: black crochet Zara shorts, neon pink RS heels, cobalt blue t shirt, shorouk necklace and white blazer.

DD wailing, back later.

Hi everyone from lovely sunny France. Spent the morning on a quiet sandy beach directly accessed from the parc. Have been wearing black VL. They stay still and have been playing beach tennis in it! Sea is cold though! Seems more middle class than where we normally go. Wore a record 5 outfits yesterday: converse, j brand jeggings , black tank for travel. Quick change in airport to WC linen dress, belted! And Gigis how comfortable??? VL for swimming pool with last year's azure Boden pleat neck dress as cover up. Best toddler pool. Then green shorts, dhite vest and jago scarf for dinner of moules frites. Lovely sea breeze and for once I'm religiously putting sun tan lotion on, because it's the St Tropez one with added fake tan!!

Sounds wonderful bloss. Outfits too. Gigis are so comfortable, I agree. I'm definitely going to get another pair next summer.

I, on the other hand, am miserably trying to find a pair of non hideous school shoes for DS. Must be black or brown. Why are they all so awful? Any suggestions please oh stylish mothers of older DSs?

How funny hopefully - I also had a inappropriate dream about TD last night. He would be just my type if he were 20yrs older...

Funnily enough the friend we were out with last night is a good friend of Mo F so she was on cloud 9. What a race! He's my champion of the games I think, followed by Chris Hoye, Jessica Ennis and of course TD!

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/08/2012 15:00

Blue - I think you just accept black school shoes are pretty hideous for boys and they'll get scuffed pretty quickly. I just go to clarks for easiness really.

Fritzi - yes its still up her nose and she is remarkably unperturbed by it. But its a total pain as we've got a busy week with DS1's birthday, going away for a couple of days and trip to legoland planned - I can do tuesday for the OP but not sure the nhs works like that Wink

IceCreamCastles · 12/08/2012 15:16

Poor dd (and you) mrscb! I had to pick up dd from nursery and take her to a&e last year as she had wedged a load of playdough up her nose. Luckily it all came out with a combination of sneezing and poking.

Sounds wonderful bloss- v Envy

NY, marsha and fritzi--your mornings sound so relaxed and civilised

Have finally jumped on the low carb bandwagon (with dh) and have lost about 4lb in first week (with a little cheating for birthday). Think I might actually be able to stick to it Shock. Much easier having dh on board.

alwaysrunninginheels · 12/08/2012 15:49

Love the humour mrscb but i hope it gets removed safely and soon. Poor you- i thought the voles were bad enough! Fingers crossed for an appointment on tues Smile

Am v impressed with the euro parc suggestions for our first trip abroad. Looks fabulous fun. DH has told me he cannot take any time off in oct so am now focused on next summer. May try a london trip with the kids in oct instead on my own. However DD may fail to understand why the queen hasnt sent a personal invitation for her to come and see her jewels....best comment at edinburgh castle was "but why does the queen keep her jewels at the top of a mountain?..."

blue your outfit for last night sounded wonderful. I still imagine you look like the lady in the blog with the shorts. Agree boys school shoes are dreadful- and they take such a hard time they don't last too long either. Would admit defeat and just buy the ones that are easiest to get your hands on. As my DD starts school in 2 days i have found there is little choice there either.

FritziGreenEyes · 12/08/2012 16:54

If anyone ever needed proof that there is something wrong with a lot of German women's approach to fashion, get this: I sold my used polka-dot Boden swimsuit for 20 Euros on Ebay and a Max Mara cashmere-silk stole for only two Euro more (brand-new with tags and receipt!) Hmm

amber How did your ebaying go?

Decameron · 12/08/2012 17:33

Wow, Fritzi!

Glad you are having a good time, Bloss, the outfits sound great. Gigis are on my list for next summer.

It's very warm here today. I'm wearing an old Michael Stars jersey dress.

Suburban, I have never watched Fair City and I doubt I'm missing much. Poor you!

MrsCB, DD1 stuck a bead up her nose when she was two. She never did it again!

Icey, I'll be encouraging my DDs to do tennis and hockey, I think!

Ollie, has your Boden georgette top arrived? How is it?

Does anyone have these trousers? I thought they looked nice in the catalogue.

AmberNectarine · 12/08/2012 18:37

The kids stuff did well this morning fritzi, netted about £90 which will be reinvested in Mini Boden. My stuff will finish tonight but running total is at c.£150, so I'm doing well. Will list more tonight. Hoping to tick another item off the wish list with the proceeds, but cannot decide what it should be. DH very kindly got me the Ash Bowies which were what I was planning to get.

bloss sounds like a fab holiday so far, v Envy!

mrsCB hope the little one is ok, and not too distressed!

blue I'd just get ugly shoes and make sure he has a fab casual pair, they will get trashed anyway. DS has just gone through the toe of his Geox after a bloody month!

decam those jeans are soo cute! Am going to Westfield this week so will check them out.

Had a rare fashion find at the car boot sale (we go weekly to feed DS's toy car habit for pennies, he must have hundreds) pink Supergas, brand new in the box for a fiver!

blossoming · 12/08/2012 19:09

I have them in navy decam. They are nice.
Hope things work out re nose mrscb

OP posts:
Decameron · 12/08/2012 19:10

Good find on the Supergas, Amber. I ordered the jeans for DD2. Zara has some cute stuff for girls.

DD1 is insisting on Lelli Kellys for school.

Decameron · 12/08/2012 19:11

Cool, thanks, Bloss, I ordered them while bathing the DDs.

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/08/2012 19:22

I've sold 3 things on ebay in the last month and made £90 - I need to crack on with the other 15 things I have to sell. Its so tedious though.

AmberNectarine · 12/08/2012 19:34

It is so tedious, but when the cash starts rolling in it is worth it!

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/08/2012 19:36

True, so true

AntPants1 · 12/08/2012 19:56

Hi all. Very busy weekend. My news is that I am an aunty again! My lovely sis had her forth baby, a boy, 8ib8, on Saturday morning. Was unfortunate I had gone out for drinks on the Friday night so felt a bit shit when looking after her three girls but luckily the sun was shining so all fine.

Am just settling down to watch the closing ceremony.

OllieinOrange · 12/08/2012 20:06

Settled in for a night watching the Olympic Closing Ceremony. Is this the only highlights programme? Have told DS1 I will buy the BBC highlights dvd to watch together. Hope it includes all the interviews and funny bits.

Lovely day. Went to a beach fairly close by. Had one of those 'slap head and think why havent we been here before?' moments. Had lovely brunch with friends there and spent the rest of the day playing on the beach joined by some other friends. That all sounds v smug (sorry) but it was like being back on holiday. So nice.

Speaking of holidays, loving the holiday wardrobe updates Bloss. Keep up the good work.

MrsCB Oh dear about DD. Can you make her sneeze? Seriously, it worked for my friends DS. Have admired Gaby's wardrobe too. Wonder if its all designer stuff?

Decameron The Boden top and Bloss's trousers in grey have arrived. Planned to try on tommorrow. Will report back.

Big wave to everyone else x

OllieinOrange · 12/08/2012 20:08

Ahhh, big congratulations Auntie Ants

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/08/2012 20:08

Sounds lovely day Ollie!

She's sneezed a lot but its gone too far up - apparently the nasal passages are very long and it gets sucked up further.

OllieinOrange · 12/08/2012 20:36

Oh no, have you just seen the Team GB outfits? Are Next to blame again???

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/08/2012 20:43

Adds red jeans to ebay pile

IceCreamCastles · 12/08/2012 20:46

Dreadful closing ceremony outfits!

Really enjoying the highlights-it's been so good hasn't it?
