How delightful Dona! I am obsessed with clean, neat feet. Hate dirty ones.

Love the term vendeuse...much nicer.

Oh, where are you Marsha? Lucky thing...

MarshaBrady · 10/08/2012 10:55

Dona that post made me chuckle but kind of gross too. Grin

Dauphin Shoreditch! A 35 bus rather than a short haul flight Grin. Sent number one to gps and ds2 extended nursery day. It's like the stars being aligned perfectly, but it's lovely when it happens!

girlsofsummer · 10/08/2012 10:57

Hi all loving the stories of fashions past. I have some great stories re the ?bondage? era but prob best shared at a MU! Grin

Lovely to see you Fleecy Smile

Yes massive kudos to the Jamaican team (and everyone else) I have enjoyed too.

Nice dress Choo ... do you know what I saw a blonde girl wearing that very dress yesterday near Liverpool St and did a triple take .... the colour is wow it will look great on you (what i imagine I know of you Grin)

I am going away later tonight and lots of work today will be laptop free so unlikely to drop in. Have great holiday Bloss (and any others) and great weekends all .

girlsofsummer · 10/08/2012 11:02

yes loved the shoe post Dona. Princess toes here too as have DDs. Like that description better than some of the more unkind ones I have heard!

girlsofsummer · 10/08/2012 11:03

Lucky you Marsha I am not too far but worlds apart right now!!

pickledsiblings · 10/08/2012 11:07

Hi Everyone

Bloss, fingers crossed the Gigis arrive on time and fit - you do realise that they would look fab with white jeans, don't you. Laughed my head off at the playsuit fiasco, I did think when you linked to it that it would look great on DD (11).

Hopefully - huge congrats, enjoy the time with your lovely boys before the crazy upheaval of moving.

Dona, that feet/shoe book sounds so interesting, don't think I'd actually sit down to read it but love your 'snippets' - thanks!

The holiday clubs for DC sound great, I contemplated something similar for mine as I'm out at work 3 days a week atm. however, I opted for the cheaper/less hassle option of sending DD an email of the activites that I wanted them to complete each day and left them to their own devices (DH working down the garden in pod). I am very pleased to say that they have been completely fabulous about it all, they are like a little 'team' and they have many new skills too!

Fritzi, about the above, I wanted to say that having more than 1 DC for me has been much easier than just having 1. If I can cope with more than 1, anyone can Smile.

Amber, can't you factor in some time to ride? It would be good for you I'm sure. Look at Icey, she's back playing netball.

Decam, so sorry about your bad riding experience but I totally get why you've given up. Has DD1 had the chance to have a go? Hope she is better soon btw.

Marsha, just Googled your joint, looks a-maz-ing. Have fun in the sun with your lovely DH, you certainly deserve it, the cling - on days are gone Smile.

pickledsiblings · 10/08/2012 11:24

Oh and Hopefully, I hope your cling- on days are gone too after your time away.

MarshaBrady · 10/08/2012 11:28

Thanks Pickled! And too true. Ds2 went to nursery nappy-free and happy. Felt good!

pickledsiblings · 10/08/2012 11:38

Rufus, thanks so much for the exterior house paint colour recommendations. I have Googled and can't seem to find them on the Crown website - help! I'm convinced that they are exactly what I'm looking for .

rufus101 · 10/08/2012 12:27

That's strange Pickled, they are the colours on my friends house and believe me they are divine. She has such good taste She always uses crown paint (she paints her interior every year!)I assumed that's what they were. I will double check with her and get back to you! They are a pale greenish grey hue.
Re the boxing. I know. Felt really weird shouting at someone to hit another girl. Although my dad is very into boxing and my younger brother used to box when he was young (gave it up aged 12 though). The look on her dads face made me feel very emotional though. Love and pride all in one. Got a hilarious email this morning with a picture of the guy who got the medal for horse riding and Katie getting their medals with the banner " it's official. We're great at fighting and riding!" Laughed so much!
That's a shame about the boots Bloss. You never know about the play suit. I've often had to lie down with the cold flannel when trying on my summer/holiday wardrobe but a bit of sunshine and a tan makes all the difference. Was laughing at the practical relation. So very like Ireland. We are always trying to claim obscure relationship with people.
Decam not surprised you won't get back on a horse. Don't. I won't let my DC ride. But that's because I know 2 child fatalities. I know. I'm such a neurotic. But I'm not that bad. DD has been sailing all week. Think she has foUnd her "thing". I prefer the DVF. Think the BR one is bulky looking.
Glad to hear you're sticking around Hopefully!
Dona I'm loving the shoe talk. So so interesting. I too have "princess" feet. In the West of Ireland (which is where I grew up), they say when they see toes like that "That means you'll be boss over your husband!"
Clearly being a princess and boss over your husband are one and the same!
Hi Fleecy. Good to see you!

Portia4 · 10/08/2012 12:56

Rufus is your DD doing the sailing in SDC or HYC? DD3 also doing sailing course this week, they maybe in the same class!

rufus101 · 10/08/2012 13:01

In SDC Portia. God. She loved it. Had an absolute ball. Bet your DD was in HYC!

Portia4 · 10/08/2012 13:08

SDC as well Rufus it's where we all learnt to sail in my family, it's so lovely with the creek and the coves up by Redrock, very Swallows and Amazons! They must have met so!

rufus101 · 10/08/2012 13:14

Wow! Must have. Must enquire! My DDs initials are HB. She is good friends with your neice you know.

rufus101 · 10/08/2012 13:17

Just asked some obscure Q's. They were in different groups! DH was Confused

I love this A&W junior MUs! You almost sold sailing to me then portia, before I turned green!

Very proud of my dad today being 'honoured' alongside Shane Williams and Stephen Jones (Welsh OBE type thing). Sad we can't be there but it's down south and we leave at crack of dawn tomorrow.

Just for the record, I want to be Marsha..

Not quite in the same league as Marsha but DH and I are relaxing pond side Smile Have come over to a small island which has a natural playground full of ponds with materials to make rafts as well as willow wigwams, stepping stones etc etc. Boys are having a blast esp at being covered in mud (brought change of clothing).

Thats lovely about your Dad Bloss. You must be very proud.

blossoming · 10/08/2012 13:38

OMG your photo's up on my FB feed hopefully! Looking good, and congrats again!

Lol at pond side ollie!

Decameron · 10/08/2012 15:00

Sounds like great fun, Ollie. Mine are both asleep for the first time ever (DD1 stopped having a nap two years ago).

I also want to be Marsha. Instead I am in the kitchen looking at a pile of ironing.

She has never expressed any interest, Pickled despite my dad's house being an ode to all things horsie! She loves karate and ballet at the moment. DH wants them to play tennis and do sailing courses. I don't think he'd be keen on the idea of buying a pony. Also some of my stories have put him off.

I think I saw that bag, Bloss, it's really nice. Well done to your dad. If you aren't 100% on the Balenciaga, best to spend the money elsewhere (Burberry coat, maybe?).

Boots have a new skincare line, Una Brennan, supposed to be good. I've just ordered a few things to try.

DvF it is. :)

Decameron · 10/08/2012 15:04

Rufus, that email is fantastic!

rufus101 · 10/08/2012 15:17

Well done to Bloss' dad!
I just saw that in Grazia Decam. Can't wait to try!
Just arrived in Tralee. Only 20minutes till we are at our destination near Dingle. Wet suits at the ready. Sun is shining but who knows how long that will last. No phone reception where I'm going so tara for a few days!
