It's all got a bit deep on here today. I've half a mind to link some Per Una to lighten the mood Wink

DonaAna · 15/08/2012 22:29

Go Rufus go! I was just offered a trip to NL next month for work. Tempted!
Yep I do love your posts Amber!
Had this quick burst of job-related creativity, opened the laptop, and can't fall asleep...

MarshaBrady · 15/08/2012 22:32

Lol Amber

and Dona too the lovely posts and pins of Dona

MarshaBrady · 15/08/2012 22:34

Dh and I are trying to work out how to be poolside this weekend. Gps sadly have down so much we may have asked too much. Think it's going to be 29 on Sat.

AmberNectarine · 15/08/2012 22:34

Day with MIL survived. Historically she arrives 0.5-1hr late for things so obviously she did the decent thing and turned up a whole hour before she was supposed to today, meaning the kids were running round naked and there was detritus everywhere. She then proceeded to tell me why I 'really ought to' stop breastfeeding. She eventually went home shortly after 9pm, by which point I had started chain-eating Jaffa cakes.

All in all, better than average.

MarshaBrady · 15/08/2012 22:34

Done so much.

rufus101 · 15/08/2012 22:36

Go on Amber you know you want to!
How about this very flattering skirt? It's denim believe it or not. And, as an added plus, its got polka dots for extra fashion points Grin

AmberNectarine · 15/08/2012 22:36

Yes marsha is going to be a scorching weekend. Ideal for traipsing to a family festival with an overexcited toddler and a crotchety baby. Recipe for success.

Hopefully · 15/08/2012 22:37

DH is doing noisy washing up. This is a sure sign I have offended him in some way. So transparent Grin. Feasibly I could go and see what's bothering him, I suppose...

Really interested to hear everyone's opinions on the whole privacy thing - I suppose because I've often seen the blog hit spikes I've been aware since I first started posting of how many people are reading what we write, so it's never really bothered me. And the fact that SE and I know each other in RL means that I'm already 'outed' in a way anyway - i know that at least one RL person is reading what I post here!

Need to start packing boxes tomorrow for first van-load going to new house on weekend. All getting a bit imminent now.

MarshaBrady · 15/08/2012 22:38

Oh yes we should do that, I'm sure your dc will love it, but I feel I need a break!

Hopefully · 15/08/2012 22:39

Amber I think my family (although not my MIL) started telling me I 'ought' to stop BFing when both DSs were about 2 weeks old Grin. Well done on surviving.

AmberNectarine · 15/08/2012 22:42

rufus I'll see your ugly skirt and raise you some hideous trousers

AmberNectarine · 15/08/2012 22:44

Oh I'm glad someone else's DH does PA washing up. So tedious.

rufus101 · 15/08/2012 22:51

Amber, are they not really flattering? "they sit on your waist and are designed to flatter your style" Grin Who is their designer/stylist? That's what I'd like to know. They'd want to do a bit of lurking here. Wouldn't do them one bit of harm.
PA dishwashing? DH? (laugh hollowly) Er..no...that would be me.
Wouldn't mind if he did some PA use of the washing maching or ironing!

NotSoGrumpy · 15/08/2012 23:12

My DH doesn't know how to work the washing machine and never irons. Takes the bins out though so no gender stereotypical roles in our house then Grin

Amber Jaffa cakes is v restrained, I'd be hitting the gin after a day like that. I hate people being early, it's much ruder than being late.

Emo76 · 16/08/2012 00:17

I am staying. If anyone recognises me in real life then for gOodness sakes don't mention my euro millions win.

Oh

pickledsiblings · 16/08/2012 00:19

So, have you packed yet Emo? Can't believe you actually considered taking time off to pack Grin.

Emo76 · 16/08/2012 00:20

As a special treat with my winnings I will by anyone who pm's me that lovely skirt rufus linked to. What a huge incentive to delurk!!

pickledsiblings · 16/08/2012 00:24

'...a sense of Italian romance..', it was made for you that skirt Emo, grab it before you head off.

rufus101 · 16/08/2012 00:24

LOL EMO. All packed up? With your Euro millions, you should employ someone to do it! Waiting for DH to come home, he's in a taxi. Broke his own key, and I hate leaving one out. Get jumpy at the thought.

Emo76 · 16/08/2012 00:25

Pickles i cAme home from work slightly early to pack before going out again for recruitment dinner. Played happy clappy corporate cheerleader over plenty of cocktails, incidentally why does anyone think sambucca shots are a TREAT?! Anyone..?

pickledsiblings · 16/08/2012 00:29

I don't think I've ever had sambucca, what does it taste of?

Emo76 · 16/08/2012 00:31

My only fear is in real life I could prove to be a crushing disappointment vs my dynamic go getting (and now millionaire) online persona. For example, I own ugh boots and a John Denver CD.

Emo76 · 16/08/2012 00:31

Pickles its aniseedy. Not my bag.

Emo76 · 16/08/2012 00:33

I am off to bed. Let's hope my inbox can cope with all those inbounds re skirt!
