Jesus, what would mine be called? The Parsnip?

MidnightinMoscow · 13/08/2012 17:23

Hope he is on the mend soon Hopefully. We are
also stuck inside due to the hell of potty training.

Quick question - shall I go for a normal lane swim tonight or brave an aqua robics class?

Dauphin · 13/08/2012 17:26

Ah Hopefully, really hope he is better soon .... We've done crapsville TV today too as DS under the weather, and incredibly grumpy! Girls have been dancing around generally annoying him. Poor thing.

I have morphed into my Mother, constantly asking them to 'play nicely'....Hmm Difficult, as about, oh, every 5 minutes one of them whines very loudly, or screeches about some alleged misdemeanour perpetrated by the other.

I did manage to clear the Playroom (stealthily), but was constantly checked by DDs, so had to be surreptitious about binning loads of crap. Feels better.
I am going to award myself a glass of vino tonight, and sort my wardrobe, a bit. I am quite good at binning my own crap too, but often think, six months down the line, 'ooh, wish I still had that blue top'....

OllieinOrange · 13/08/2012 17:34

MiM aqua robics - nobody can see if you are not doing the excercises properly Smile

notyummy · 13/08/2012 19:15

Sorry to hear about the vomiting - hope all clear soon Hopefully.

MIM - I vote for aqua aerobics too. MOst people dont push themselves anywhere near hard enough when lane swimming to see proper benefits [nasty games mistress emoticon]. Or as my charming PT instructor in the RAF used to say 'If you're not hurting, it's not working.' Another delightful one was 'If you're not retching, it's not stretching.' And 'Sweat is weakness leaving the body'. He was one man motivational poster. Hmm I quite like the last one though.

It's an S and B waste land here. No new clothes, although I think once pay day comes around I will hot foot it to Zara (by way of the running shop for new trainers.) Feeling smug that all DHs birthday presents bought without dipping into the chunk I try and reserve each month for savings. Trying to remember that when I am tempted to buy, buy, buy.....

Congrats Aunty Ants!

Had a great time Saturday day/night with friends. Adults got steadliy tipsy in the huge garden whilst children ran riot. Then grown ups watched Olympic triumph whilst the children retired to the playroom to watch DVDs. Wore Phase 8 green maxi and was complimented. Very jaded yesterday though....

Am bereft now the Games are over!

alwaysrunninginheels · 13/08/2012 19:23

decameron Grin at organic peanut butter for mice.

hopefully hope he is on the mend ASAP.

Schools start back here tomorrow. Dreading it!!! DD starts p1! My littlest baby at school. Time passes too quickly!

blossoming · 13/08/2012 20:06

I am slightly tipsy. That is what happens when friends arrive! Lots of fun though. Feel for me: dd doesn't like water or sand, refuses to wear shorts and is in her lilac jeans, socks and sandals. And her princess tee shirt of course. Will PM details when home. (of campsite!)
For dinner I wore white denim pencil skirt and sapphire vest, with gigs and toucan.
Really lovely weather. Hot but with a cooling sea breeze.

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/08/2012 20:39

Bloss - could you possibly pm me when back as to where you are as sounds fab.

Always - agree peanut butter on snappy traps good or 2 feral cats.

Its eldest's birthday today and cats had got him a lovely present of a dead mouse on the stairs.

I am dreading what they get me next week Wink

Have been to legoland. I wore a white jacket and carried a handbag - I was a freak amongst a sea of trainers and rucksacks.

MidnightinMoscow · 13/08/2012 20:51

Aqua aerobics it was! Felt great!

MrsCB well done, I can just imagine what it was like.

Sounds fabulous Bloss and am loving hearing your outfit updates.
L

IceCreamCastles · 13/08/2012 21:21

Nice one MiM-think you made the right choice.

Congratulations auntie ants-how lovely!

Please could you pm me too bloss? We'll all be there next year! How funny that your dd doesn't like water or sand-maybe you should take her for a city break next time instead.

We had a mousey visitor last night too! I think (hope) he'd just wandered in from the field as the utility room door was open and he scarpered back out as soon as he was spotted.

Hope ds is better soon hopefully- I get so bored staying in all day too

Ds and dd are so funny together at the moment- he finds everything she does hilarious so she is constantly performing for him-we all end up in fits of laughter! She is pretty good with him overall apart from the odd headlock and overenthusiastic washing of him in the bath!

Hope you are ok red-loved your comments on fb about the closing ceremony. I felt so sorry for VB Grin

Hopefully · 13/08/2012 21:23

Thanks for the good wishes. After a decidedly miserably day poor little DS2 was shattered and has zonked out good and proper, so hopefully he'll be back on good form tomorrow. Think it was just a passing bug. I am having a lovely time trying to remove the faint aroma of sick from my life. Have been so fortunate with both children - this is literally the first time DS2 has thrown up since birth (including as a newborn) and DS1 has only thrown up on two occasions in his entire life that I can remember.

Bloss Envy sounds fabulous.

Have spent a thrilling evening ordering essentials like bins, tissues, a label maker and other bits and bobs to ensure that I am entirely ready to go when we move. Have spent a bloody fortune - there are so many little hidden expenses in setting up to receive clients! (Maybe not an entire fortune, but certainly more than I was hoping to on things like tissues...)

FritziGreenEyes · 14/08/2012 08:17

mim Aquarobics sound good. Will try and get to the swimming pool next door this week after dropping DD off at school. I find that being in the water helps clearing my mind immensely.

hopefully Hope you had a peaceful night and DS is on the mend today.

icey It must be lovely seeing your two DCs together. I was almost choked up last week when we met my sister and DD held her 7-month-old cousin on her lap and made him giggle.

bloss Enjoy the sunshine. Your holiday outfits sound spot on! Although it always stresses me out a bit, I actually love holiday wardrobe planning and packing. It is so rewarding when you are on holiday and you can get dressed without thinking "I should have brought this? Why didn't I pack that? etc"

Where is dona?

MidnightinMoscow · 14/08/2012 08:34

It was good Fritzi, especially as I could just whizz up to the baths in my car. A good feeling all round.

Icey the DC's sound adorable together. I just keep catching DS performing medical experiments on DD with his "Doctor Doctor kit". Grin

Very organised Hopefully, well worth getting it all in order now though.

A day off from potty training today as DS at nursery. Planning on a long walk with DD and then starting to sort through the bags and boxes that are from our loft. Much better to do this sort of thing in DH's absence, so I can get rid of his 1980's day glo sweat bands etc....oh and a snooker cue not used since '88.

pickledsiblings · 14/08/2012 10:07

Bloss, so glad you're having a great time, lol at your DD. I'd love a PM too when you get back.

MiM, I hope you pushed yourself in the pool Smile. I share your 'fear' of driving btw and I'm still challenging myself 15+ years in. Still a big 'no' to motorway driving though. Great to hear that you're enjoying the freedom it brings.

Hopefully, what are the tissues for?? Are you planning on delivering bad news to your clients? It's all getting so real now - did you find a lovely place to rent then?

Icey, lovely to hear that your DC are getting along well together, long may it continue. Do you find that you are more relaxed this time 'round? It's often the case (although not always!), worth having a second baby for I'd say (big hint for Fritzi).

Looby, you're right of course, now that DS is 5 and at school, the baby stage is v. much behind us although there is an argument that says that's exactly the right time to have another (another big hint for Fritzi). Both DH and DD had a dream on the same night a few nights ago that I had a baby girl . It won't be long before your 2 youngest are getting along like Icey's Smile.

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 10:35

Icey your post really made me smile. Your DD and DS sound adorable together.

Ants The Online Stylist is wearing the Zara star print t you pinned. Looks really good.

Hopefully I asked our consultant about the tissues on the table! She said she has had just one lady who got upset but that turned out to be related to other emotional issues rather than the outcome of her Style Day!!!

Decameron I tried on the Boden Seam Detail Trousers. They are keepers! Just like Bloss said - great material and fit. DH even went as far as saying "very, flattering, keep" (not often I hear that)
I ordered the Storm thinking they were the Coal (go figure) but think I will keep anyway - nice colour. Will also order the everyday jumper from the winter preview as I think they would look good together. Be nice to wear something other than blue jeans for everyday. Reviews said waist was big but I ordered a 12 and they are fine - says more about my waist I think Smile
Not sure about the blouse. Will try on with different jeans later.

Really hot and sticky here today. DS2 has a playdate over so hoping I have time to tackle some house jobs and sit in the garden

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 10:39

Oh and dont forget: The Great British Bake Off starts again this evening! (Does MN have a saddo smiley?)

NotSoGrumpy · 14/08/2012 10:42

Hopefully why do you need lots of tissues? Are you planning to make your clients cry? On a dull and mundane note, if you're self-employed you should be able to get a card for Makro or Costco where you can bulk buy your tissues. I use DH's Makro card to buy exciting things like nappies, wipes, washing powder etc, saves me a fortune.

Icey I loved reading your post, my DDs now play together a bit and it's so wonderful to watch. Yesterday DD1 was trying to teach DD2 how to draw flowers but all DD2 wanted to do was eat the crayons. I've definitely been more relaxed second time round. It's made us seriously consider having a 3rd although I think we probably won't.

MIM aqua aerobics sounded good, I'm using MFP and ripped in 30 to try and tone up and shift the last few pounds after having a similar shopping experience to yours trying on bikinis in Primark.

notyummy your weekend sounded great.

I've managed to buy some work clothes and a fabulously flattering new pair of jeans but DD2 has just woken up so I'll post links later. Oh, and I tried on the Davina dress in teal, it's so flattering and is high up my A/W wishlist.

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 10:53

Ants this may be too fussy for you but I saw it and thought of you Zara necklace

FritziGreenEyes · 14/08/2012 11:02

pickled Thanks, but I'm actually not feeling broody at all. Smile

ollie I like the Boden trousers and think they would look good with oversized jumper.

OllieinOrange · 14/08/2012 11:20

Always can you wear pink? DP sequin top (poly tho) here

FritziGreenEyes · 14/08/2012 12:42

Have just ironed an emperor size flat sheet... It took me forever. Think I'll need to take bedlinen to a laundry place to have the ironing done in the future.

IceCreamCastles · 14/08/2012 13:19

Agh. Mousey visitor not a one off-just discovered one which must have been trapped in conservatory all night. I did stereotypical screeching and leaping onto chair. Dh is now attempting to either steer it back outside or bash it in a rather comical fashion Grin. Luckily dd isn't here to witness all this!

Will have to invest in traps and (organic) peanut butter later. Yuck. Little bugger has chewed one of ds's toys that was left out there Sad

notyummy · 14/08/2012 13:40

Fritzi- you are a domestic goddess! I only buy fitted sheets and never iron them [domestic laziness emoticon].

Just flicking through some glossies. Lots of patterned knitwear this season. Think I might invest in one. Probably just the one as it may only be a passing thing.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/08/2012 13:58

notyummy I'm as far from domestic goddessdom as you can imagine. Just trying to make things a bit nicer at home. We have fitted sheets too. Smile Bought flat to go on top + quilt.

icey Poor you! I'd say it's time for organic peanut butter.

Hopefully · 14/08/2012 16:14

Ollie yay! I love GBBO.

Tissues are for many and varied uses - wiping off lipsticks, mopping up product spillage, dabbing a bit of foundation on to check colour. And drying tears - not that uncommon if training was anything to go by!
