You'll need to give us a bit more - are you looking for a whole new wardrobe or just some DMs? You don't sound like your figure is going to be difficult to dress

Iamgiulietta · 09/08/2012 17:28

Aha sorry I am looking for a whole new wArdrobe I think but the sheer effort of it and my ultimate can't be arsedness makes me want to just but some dms so I can wear them all the time. With everything. And that isn't going to be very stylish is it Grin basically want a personal stylist. My figure is quite good I think. I have a nice tan n my hair looks decent when it's cut which will be after the school holS. What do other 36 year old mums wear.??

I'm 35 and I've no idea if you would consider me stylish but I'm def not a frump so here is what I try to do:

Good fabrics - avoid jersey/sports type materials and stick with natural fibres so things don't go minging in the wash and look dowdy.

No sports wear at all. None. No hoodies. No fleeces. No yoga leggings.

Good jeans. I like nudie.

Flat ankle boots in brown. Ballet flats in different colours. One pair of heels, black.

Great, chic coat. Blazer (mine's cord but I'm going to sell it and get a more jackety one). Scarves.

Earrings. A lot of being dressed for me is about earrings. Either tribal or kinda rock chick ish. It's only this and non-mummy hair that keeps me from being very unfunky but I like to think it works!

I shop in expensive-ish places at sale time and avoid the cheaper bits of the high street. I don't need to look bang up to date so I can shop slower/pricier now than I would have done before. eBay is good too.

smellylittleorange · 09/08/2012 20:28

sundaegirl can you link to some of the earrings you describe ? I struggle with "impact" earrings they tend to look v girly on me when sometimes I want a bit of an edge!

smellylittleorange · 09/08/2012 20:31

Iamgiuletta what about an outfit like

this from hm can be dressed up or down?

SundaeGirl · 09/08/2012 21:28

These are pretty cool for a fiver

V&A again chic I think

these would get a lot of wear if I owned them

[[

I get loads of compliments on a pair I got in H&m sale for 99p. Huge black and white circles. Maybe people just comment cos they're big. I like gothic crosses types too, which toughen up my not-in-least-gothic look.

smellylittleorange · 09/08/2012 21:54
