I really don't need anymore make-up, but have bought quite a bit, thought fellow mumsnetters might like a review.........

\link{http://www.benefitcosmetics.com\all from the "benefit" range available in Boots}
I bought:
Lemon Aid - fab stuff which brightens up the eye area
Brow Lift - wow, this is brill - you draw a bit just beneath your brow, it acts as a highlighter, but very subtle, gives you a wide awake look
Brow Zings - lovely eyebrow defining and shaping kit, looks v natural
Dr Feelgood - This stuff "mattifies" the skin - you put it on with the little sponge, sort of gives the effect of foundation but it's v light and conditions the skin
Hollywood glo - sort of pinky glowy stuff which you can use alone or add to foundation or creamy blushers - makes your skin look more lively

Boots has an offer at the mo too - buy 2 benefit products and get 500 points on Boots card, so I bought 4 items in 2 separate transactions and got £10 on my card

Also bought a couple of No7 lipglosses (like Lancome juicy tubes - just as good IMO)

Spill the beans, how much?

Like the idea of the brow lift...

hunkermunker · 09/03/2006 15:48

I like the No7 lipglosses too - agree they're as good as and cheaper than the Juicy tubes.

Like the sound of the Benefit stuff (love the product names) - and the advantage card points!

puff · 09/03/2006 15:50

I think about £70, then one item free using some of the points added to my Boots card.

I really like this benefit range now - had a good look at it all - clever stuff

The brow lift pencil is fantastic - if i was going to buy one thing, this would be it.

The thing about the points is its not advertised as such but is a good deal so thought I'd share....also if you spend £10 (I think) in Boots you get a £5 No7 voucher - had 2 of these, so got lipglosses for £6 instead of £16

Thank you for sharing that - DH is having both boys on Sunday while I go shopping so I will wander round looking at cosmetics with an expression of bliss on my face and no little person shouting for gingerbread men - ahhhhh!

puff · 09/03/2006 15:56

ooh lovely hunker - make sure you treat yourself

Puff - I've been looking at the BeneFit stuff on the Boots website and hoping for a chance to actually go in to Cardiff and look at it!!

Really like the sound of the Dr Feelgood stuff and also the Dandelion powder.

puff · 09/03/2006 16:05

I know fastasleep - I shouldn't have Blush

Keeping purchases very quiet from dh as he has already told me I now have enough make up to last me in this world and the next

I have the Dr Feelgood thingy - it is fab, isn't it?

Puff, you have been on quite a makeover mission recently. But am not surprised - you deserve it!

meggmoo · 09/03/2006 16:07

Puff I have all the things on your list. lemonaid is really good at covering up slight redness and I can also highly recommend the Bad Girl eye pencil - It's great.

I spent about £250 on Benefit just before my wedding(over 2 years ago) as I was doing my own makeup and still have everything(wear it all every day) it lasts for ages and ages. The only thing I have had to replace is th eye pencil.

Stila is good too, very similar and about the same price.

puff · 09/03/2006 16:08

Thanks moonshine - i am enjoying buying make up and clothes again after a looooooooong drought!

Ah well, that definately makes me feel better about spending £30 on boujours stuff this morning! Enjoy.

cod · 09/03/2006 16:15

had a benefit makeup at selfies
w as not impressed

puff · 09/03/2006 16:17

I bought the lip and cheek tint ages ago - it lasts forever, but I was always a bit suspicious of the range because of the funky packaging - made me think it was for younger bods than me, but the products are really good, so I've got over my packaging issues.

Meggymoo - have you tried their mascara - if so - any good?

OP posts:
Piffle · 09/03/2006 16:19

I love DR Feelgood have never been without it and their paperdolls colour stick foundation
FAB
I might have t hit their counter shortly Grin

meggmoo · 09/03/2006 16:21

NO I'm not keen on the mascara, I don't know anyone that uses it either oh and I'm th eother way I love the packaging but then I am a real sucker for anyhting remotely vintage/retro/kitch looking.

What was wrong with the make over, you know I've neve rhad one done - know what I like, browse for a bit then buy what looks good.

puff · 09/03/2006 16:23

Was it the way they made you up cod?

I like prescriptives cosmetics too - but on hol in New York a few years ago, was given a makeover at their counter and OMG I walked away looking like a huge hooker (I was v overweight at the time)

OP posts:
meggmoo · 09/03/2006 16:24

puff · 09/03/2006 16:25
