Quote from today's paper

"I like to make my husband like me more, and he likes it when I'm wearing makeup"

Doin' it for feminism Gwen Torch...good on ya

Hmmm, I think that possibly says more about her husband than her tbh.

After all, we all know that Gavin Rossdale is just delightful Hmm

Lottapianos · 08/08/2012 13:21

I love Gwen Stefani's music and I think she is jaw-droppingly beautiful. That quote just about made me weep though.

'I like to make my husband like me more....' - good grief, she sounds like such an airhead Sad

BunnyLebowski · 08/08/2012 13:22

Daft bint.

Don't me wrong. I love my make-up but it has shag all to do with DP. He prefers me sans fards....the weirdo.

Lottapianos · 08/08/2012 13:27

Do we think she's been getting up at 5am all these years to put her full face on in case poor Gavin caught a glimpse of her without slap? Sad Confused

Bunny, my DP doesn't get make up either, he thinks the amount I use is obscene, and I consider myself quite a light (but enthusiastic) user. He thinks painting nails is just utterly bonkers - he lifts up my hands to have a look at the colour and just shakes his head and sighs. Don't care coz I bloody love it Grin

womma · 08/08/2012 13:36

All that hair bleach must have eaten her brain.

Does she try to look more like Marilyn then? Her hubby loved him!

WeeDot · 08/08/2012 13:36

MrsRyanLochte he's not got the best reputation I agree.

She obviously knows lots of girls look up to her, what was she thinking??????

Lotta Grin My DP loves it when I'm all glammed up, he tells me I look gorgeous and even comments on wee details: eyeliner, lippy colour etc but he would never expect me to wear it.

Re: the getting up thing. I used to that when I was an insecure 19 year old and was going out with this beautiful fella who I felt was way out of my league Sad. He also treated me fairly crappily.

Saw on FB recently that he's now about 18 stone and his wife is nowhere near as hot as me Wink

Lottapianos · 08/08/2012 13:43

Bunny, that's very sweet of your DP. Mine comments on my make up too but it's more like 'oh you've got blue stuff on your eyes' with a puzzled look on his face Grin He's vair luffy though.

DolomitesDonkey · 08/08/2012 13:55

Gav would prefer it if she got up 2 minutes early to put on a strap-on rather than her lippy.

monkeysmama · 08/08/2012 17:33
Grin
HaveALittleFaith · 08/08/2012 19:40

That's really sad :( on the one hand, DH says I look sexy all dolled up fur a night out. But he think my sexiest outfit - honestly - is a vest top and ok shorts! :) She must be insecure in her marriage?!

noddyholder · 08/08/2012 19:56

haha dolomite aint that the truth

angryfurball · 09/08/2012 06:08

I feel very sorry for her if that's true.

My DH doesn't notice whether I have makeup on or not. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

ujjayi · 09/08/2012 07:51

I really hope she has been misquoted. I understand wanting to make the most of yourself and it is a lovely thing when DH notices that you've made an effort etc but, like HaveALittleFaith and Bunny, my DH would never expect it and gives me as many compliments and attention whether I am dressed up to the 9s or make-up free and slob-tastic.

If it is true then either she is massively insecure or he is controlling. Of course, if he is controlling then she is bound to start feeling insecure. Why do people operate this way?
