... with me buying him clothes... I tend to think that per una is 'lovely and such good quality' so clearly I need help. What looks good on an 8 year old? Any ideas on brands etc?

I bought my 8yo red twisted skinny jeans from Next & they've gone down pretty well. Really decent quality too.

I get stripey tshirts from H&M, don't find their skinny jeans v.good quality so wouldn't buy again but everything else is great. I think checked hooded shirts over a tshirt is pretty cool at present. And most 8yo boys I know have at least one item of angry birds or moshi monsters clothing which you would find in most supermarkets/next/debenhams etc. Also hi-tops. That's what the 6/7/8/9 yo boys wear around here anyway - coloured skinnies everywhere just like with the women. I'm happy with that, it puts off the all-black years that I know are coming!

What does he like to do? If he is into skateboarding and such like, no good kitting him out from river island for instance...

my ds just turned 9 wears river island, NOTHING with skulls and or slogans on unless it's really cool. Next for skinny jeans in all colour, Fred Perry tops, Chino shorts in this weather with cool polo type tops
