Shock that's one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I've seen in AGES!

EduStudent · 07/08/2012 17:34

I think it's absolutely beautiful Shock

A friend of mine did the two dresses thing, thanks to stumbling across a wedding shop that was closing down. Her evening one was shorter and simpler than her daytime one.

AmberNectarine · 07/08/2012 17:38

I wore my dress for most of the day, then changed into a skimpy LBD at about 9pm for dancing. Felt too trussed up!

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 07/08/2012 17:41

God, even if you have a face like a bag of spanners, you will look stunning. Grin
gorgeous.

I had 2 dresses...a silk blue dress and coat for registry do and a sexy Ghost dress for the evening do which I wore with no underwear.

MrsRyanLochte · 07/08/2012 17:47

Oh my word, that is a beautiful dress. Might be nice to have a change for the evening as will be easier to dance in. Maybe a little white dress rather than black so you are still easily identifiable as The Bride in pics?

AndWhenYouGetThere · 07/08/2012 19:06

That's a stunning dress

daisygatsby · 07/08/2012 19:09

Thanks everyone. Yes, the dress is gorgeous. I just don't think I look great in it. But maybe I'm just panicking. Also, I guess I'm not used to wearing something like that - but who is?

I would be thinking of something short and cream/ gold. But then Im not sure that kind of dress would go with my hairdo for the day!

God think I'm just having a wedding meltdown

LOVE that dress - I don't think I've seen one like that before. Why don't you think it suits you?

This would be the kind of thing - 'cept they don't have it in my size

I think you're just having a meltdown - the second dress is also exquisite. How will you be having your hair?

Will have a root about for something a bit like the Aidan Mattox dress.

shockandpaw · 07/08/2012 19:52

I'm Asian and it's totally the done thing to have two (or three or four) dresses on your wedding day! I'm having three Grin.

Your dress is lovely and I would probably want to get as much wear out of it as I could. But I can understand why you'd want to change out of it. Are you having an updo? Would it be possible to take it out for the evening to go with the shorter dress?

daisygatsby · 07/08/2012 20:44

My hair is going to be in a messy bun. I wouldn't be able to take it out and have it anyway presentable in the evening.

The ceremony isn't till half three : so I'd really only be wearing the dress for a couple of hours, seems like a bit of a waste I guess.

Three dresses, shockandpaw - wow ! I think Id have total meltdown if I had three dresses

Thanks for your opinions everyone

OP if you are not 100% happy with your dress keep looking! No matter how much you like the look of a dress, if you don't feel amazing when you slip it on it's not the one.

I wore a dress that was 'special' enough for the ceremony/day event but then comfortable enough to wear into the night. Try Jenny Packham.

I do love Amber's idea of a LBD though! Excuse to buy an awesome dress you can wear after the day...
