What ya dressed in today? ....

ADifferentKindOfMum · 07/08/2012 10:32

....because I am a mess.

Navy blue Cos t shirt (out of shape, baggy, reminds me of being a student in the 90's).
Grey Top Shop Baxters poking out underneath t shirt (ill-fitting, bagging, constant hoiking up).
Khaki Superga (reasonable condition but from far away look like I just can't be arsed).

The items individually could be nice, however I look a bloody mess. I'm not overweight, 5'4, longish brown wavy hair. But God i look scruffy.

Its nothing that some premium denim, Splendid jersey basics and Autumn-boot-wearing-weather won't fix but I am totally devoid of £££££.

Come on ladies, what ya got on today?

Dark straight jeans - Next
Black V neck stretch tshirt - Primark
Pink ballet pump slippers - Next

So boring.

iWILLdothis · 07/08/2012 10:45

ADKOM, you sound better put together than me. Showered, washed hair, fake tanned legs but still feel a mess. My skin. Oh, my skin. Sad
Short denim skirt, White tee, yellow three quarter sleeve cardi, tan sandals.
I need sleep and some £££ also would be handy for some nice new & different clothes. Or maybe it's the yellow cardi, not sure if yellow suits me (pale with dark brown wavy hair)?

ADifferentKindOfMum · 07/08/2012 10:45

fabulous I just attempted some red New Look ballet pumps with my outfit (bought a couple of years ago now). My feet looked like pigs trotters. Puh.

Not just any Trackie b's, purple velour ones. Ver posh. If I wear the matching hoodie apparently I look like a giant Aubergine. Grin I am depressed because DP went home (LDR) tomorrow I will be swanky again!

vamosbebe · 07/08/2012 13:04

a homemade house dress: basically a red/white stripey 'sausage' with one seam, elastic round the top and elastic at the waist - it's my 'hanging round the house with the baby/baby can climb all over me/throw up/flick puree at me' dress that i change into the minute I get home.

I have been known to leave the house again in the afternoon and forget to change out of my slippers/put bra back on!!!

When I was out having some adult time this morning, I was wearing navy linen troos (hate navy, but still too big to fit into last summer's clothes and these were cheap), black/white stripey top, jangly flipflops. DH was feeding the DS as I was getting dressed this morning, so I stole 5minutes to straighten my hair - I feel ridiculously glossy!!!

FrankieAndArthur · 07/08/2012 13:10

A Maxi Dress in a royal blue with poppies on it.
Diesal, floral pumps Smile
Black Boyfriend Cardigan because my shoulder are cold. I am not but my shoulders are.

After washing the dress, the cross over bit of the top half is gaping and I keep thinking I ought to sew it up!
I feel very wanton! Blush

Jealous of all these comfortable sounding outfits. I'm in a shit dress and suit jacket as I'm in court. As always I can't wait to get home and into pjs because I'm a slob

RobinSparkles · 07/08/2012 13:47

Err...
Pink adidas track suit bottoms,
a grey t shirt with a Giraffe on that says "living the high life!" it's actually a pyjama tshirt
And pink, spotty tote socks.

I have no intention of going out and I hope nobody knocks on the door!

Keepthechangeyoufilthyanimal · 07/08/2012 14:02

pink converse
Dark blue jeans (H&M)
Grey lightweight sweater thing with heart on (next)

TacoLeBell · 07/08/2012 14:03

Black Skinnies from DP
This Top from Topshop (I changed the belt though)
Long and short necklaces.

ornellaia · 07/08/2012 14:10

An off white (ecru?) Zara basics linen T-shirt, which is ver see-through so I have a nice bright pink bra underneath and black Levi's skinnies. I have a boyfriend cardigan somewhere (also Zara basics) but I took it off when I was hot and now I can't remember where I put it. I'll put some tan ballet pumps on when I go out (from Jane Shilton I think).

I haven't done my hair today but it looks fine, I have nice, thick curly hair so I can often get away with not doing much to it. For makeup I have mascara and some Benefit cha cha tint on, I'm pretty low maintenance but I think I look nice.

hydrangeas · 07/08/2012 14:10

ADifferentKindOfMum · 07/08/2012 16:16

Amber can you talk about the Goldsigns? I think they are reasonably priced for non high-street denim. Are they lightweight (think DP skinny 'jeans' more like leggings) or heavy like Levi's? Are they baggisome like Baxters or unbreathable like Miss Sixty? I've also got my eye on high Kai by Nudie..know anyone with these?

Also, am a short and thick waisted 36" hipped person of 5'5, how is the sizing on the Goldsign's would you say?

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 07/08/2012 16:27

ADifferentKind of all my premium denim, these Goldsigns are my absolute favourites. They are the high rise Virtuals and are really, really good. Great shape and length on me (5'4, size. 8/10). They are quite lightweight, maybe TS Leigh density if that gives an indicator? The only slight bugbear is they do bag a bit. After a couple of days wear they need a wash to tighten them up (not really an issue as nothing lasts more than that in this house before it is smeared with toddler effluent). They size large, I have gone down a size from my usual.

I also have Nudie High Kais which come a close second to the Goldsigns, they are a much heavier denim, and as a result have excellent hold-you-in properties, and do not lose shape at all ever. They do size small though. I have a 27, but it is a small 27.
