Asda or sainsburys? Which do nicer clothes?

I know u r probably thinking neither, but I desperately need a few cheap and cheerful things before I go on holiday. Got to take toddler and baby with me so can't face town. Thought I'd see what the supermarkets have to offer. A quick supermarket sweep. But I can only go to one of these.

Yeah I'd agree ASDA for those sorts of things, can you not get to an H&M's, they have lots of cheap holiday stuff in at the moment too.

Sainburys is a bit mumsy.

mumtocuddlebundle · 06/08/2012 21:50

Thanks karaoke. I do prefer the sainsburys shop. Asda is a bit

Saino's.

Oops posted too soon. Meant to say asda a bit of a thought to go to. It's much bigger and noisier and has loads of toys to get ds past. So Maybe sainsburys is better option.

Sainsburys good for workwear, a bit hit and miss for other stuff but handy when your mum does all her shopping there then lets you go mad with the points :o

For holiday stuff I'd go to asda/tesco though.

PurplePidjin · 06/08/2012 21:53

Ps, only grandma's are allowed to have the magic coins needed to make those rides work Wink

mumtocuddlebundle · 06/08/2012 21:54

Aaggghh, it seems everyone disagrees. Not sure now. H&ms is in tOwn and really not sure I can face getting parked in multi story and carting the 2 kids along with me.

Sainburys are good for plain basics - their winter stripe and plain £6 Ts are better than many x4 the price.

Asda would be better for a holiday shop imo, they do a greater range of styles.

Had a good look at asda online and not feeling too inspired. So might try sainsburys.

Unless you are going to one of the larger Sainsbo stores, some of them dont have a fitting room, whereas most Asda stores do. Our nearest Sainsbo carries a very limited range and has no fitting room, so I tend to use Asda more as it has a much bigger choice. But would say overall, quality of Sainsbo's is better.

You can also order on-line from Asda and see most of their current range. If they dont have your size in store or if one of the nearby stores doesnt have it you can order on-line and have a next day delivery if it is urgently needed or allow a couple of days for it to arrive with you. You also have the option of getting an item delivered home (which you pay for) or to a local store (which is free).

Tesco also available on-line as well as instore and have fitting rooms at stores which carry clothing range.

A lot of it comes down to how much time you have before you go away and what items you are looking for as most of the stores/supermarkets are now going into A/W, so S/S stock is basically what is left after the sales.

I prefer Asda stuff, it's a bit more fashionable. Have a gorgeous red polka dot tea dress from there and as I am a short arse, I have millions of their school sweaters which look great with leggings in an 80s way.

DeepPurple · 07/08/2012 17:23

I used to prefer sainsburys but the last few seasons of clothes have been dire. Garish colours and rubbish styles. I went to asda today and they had a great range of stuff. At the moment I think asda is best!

mumtocuddlebundle · 07/08/2012 17:38

Thanks everyone. I went to sainsbo today. It's a fairly small store and don't think there was a great selection. Although I did manage to get a couple of things. Perhaps I will try asda later in the week. We r off on hols at the weekend!

DeepPurple, I agree with you! I hope someone from Sainsbury's reads this, because their designer must have changed and the new stuff is hideous. I too, prefer the Asda stuff at the mo. I bought a lovely leggings/ top with navy peter pan collar which isn't at all 'tarty' or fashionable.
