Please explain BB Creams to me

I normally wear foundation, but I am due to go on holiday shortly and of course don't want to wear it abroad in a hot climate (hopefully!).

So what is BB Cream? Does it even out skin tone, which I have to say, mine is very uneven without foundation. Once you have a tan, does it still look ok?

Also, which is the best for someone of 40 years old?

Sorry for all these questions, all your advice is much appreciated, as I found my perfect foundation from your advice.

Thanks

When on holiday, I bought the Une BB cream foundation. I was uncertain, as I love my foundation, but it had run out and needs must. I have to say, I am impressed. Gave a natural look in the heat and stayed on ok.

Couldn't do no foundation at all tho!

They are crap - that's all you need to know.

It looks better with a tan. I use the Garnier one but I dont think I would use it for a winter foundation.

BB Cream is a tinted moisturizer/primer cream with sun protection, originally developed for use after cosmetic surgery, and then became popular in Asia. OK for light coverage on medium skin tones, can be harder with very pale or dark complexions

I bought the loreal bb nude magique yesterday. ITs a very runny White liquid with a slightly gritty feel but goes on lovely and looks nice. I have laso tried the garner- too orange and the Boot NO 7 which is also good.

The ones ive tried from the uk are shockingly bad and IMO should not be called BB creams!
I kept reading about Korean BB creams do have tried a couple and they are excellent for my pale, uneven blemish probe skin. Fantastic coverage, great colour & high SPF the one I use is SPF42.

Thanks everyone, I am going to browse the shelves of Boots tomorrow and look at the No7 and others.

My skin is medium but over the years has become soooooo uneven!

I do feel that I need to really start making more of an effort with my appearance as can't rely on youth any more! Thinking about gel nails, eyelash extensions, teeth whitening, using 'Frownies' to help with wrinkles but all this needs to be another thread on its own!!!!!

ginvera green tea bb cream is really nice. I'm replacing my Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser with it.

I've tried a few & every one has been too dark & yellow for me, so beware if you are pale skinned.
