I'm going to a wedding in Florida in three weeks. I have nothing to wear. Not even a clue of where to start. I need some help!

Wedding is formal, but not overly so. Weather will be HOT, but part of the wedding is indoors with ferocious air con. I will be over there for a few days beforehand so will be able to get a bit of a tan, but am generally fairish skinned with dark hair and light eyes. 5'8, somewhere between a 12 and a 14 with a mummy tummy (thanks, 10lb DS2 Grin). Decent legs. Average boobs.

Am thinking short, fun, not too mumsy but not tarty. Something easy to pack! Any thoughts?

Have just ordered this: www.frenchconnection.com/product/71XA8/Empress+Orchid+Dress.htm to try on - any thoughts?

Like look in sales thoug. That might give you sweat patches. I tried a nice maxi dress (I know) in Laura Ashley. Was grey with print at bottom. Normally hate la and maxis

Windsock · 04/08/2012 19:27

I got (for Henley) a nice maxi skirt in blue stripes. Wire with white blazer and navy tank.

Felt good

Windsock · 04/08/2012 19:29

Christ. It was this. How shit does it look?
It looked ok on in the shop

I like that maxi but can't do sleeveless. Arms look like hams Sad

Skirt lovely, but I definitely want a dress for this.

Am hopeful about French Connection number. Would need new shoes though.

What about this? With a black shrug to hide hammy arms (though I bet they're not)
Phase Eight

Lace should be cooler but cover your arms m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/354308/Product.aspx
This comes up a bit small on sizing but is fun ..., m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/333788/Product.aspx
Or bit brighter & if you could bear to bare your arms

Sorry got carried away, am bed bound and bored Grin

JesusInACabbageVan · 04/08/2012 20:54

I have a bad case of those red spots on my upper arms, can't seem to shift them. Tried some Clarins thing that's meant to do it, but no luck. Sad That and total lack of commitment to gym means hammy arms!

Love that last one with the cherry blossom, and the lace number from Phase Eight. I might nip down to Phase Eight in the morning as there's a silk dress I really want as well but noone has my size online. OR if I go to John Lewis I could look at the cherry number as well.....

Why bed bound, wonkylegs?

Cracked heal cream gets rid of the red spots, start using it now and they'll be gone in three weeks.

I tried that and it was helping, but then I was promised Clarins magic Grin Will go back to cracked heel cream night and morning and see how we get on.

wonkylegs · 04/08/2012 23:19

I've hurt my hip and have been hobbling on crutches as I'm supposed to rest it whilst I wait for surgery. However I've overdone the hobbling and standing, sitting & walking even with crutches have been too much today so was sent to bed by dr husband, have had a kip post painkillers and only just read your reply sorry.
