Anyone tried Dior Forever foundation?

I know there have been loads of foundation threads but here's another.....

Has anyone used Dior Forever? Any thoughts? I had a sample recently and loved it, I'm planning to buy some but am wobbling because it's happened before that I've loved a sample and then regretted buying the whoe thing. I have just finished a bottle of Chanel Matt Lumiere which I haven't enjoyed- too matt for me.

Also any thoughts on the Touche Eclat foundation by YSL? I've got a sample of that and aprt from the lovely smell it doesn't seem anything special to me.

Sorry for waffle, I'd just like to discuss it a bit before taking the plunge and no one I know in RL is even vaguely interested.

I've got Dior Forever, Cartoonjane, if the one you're asking about is the one in the compact - I tend to keep it in my bag and use it for touch ups rather than applying it as my main foundation. I do like it very much but I prefer a liquid. And I bought the Teint Éclat yesterday after using a sample for a couple of weeks, I suspect that it's not the kind of foundation that's going to please people who like full coverage, I find, however, that a sheerer, less matte finish is more flattering on my wizened old face ( as I always point out though, as my disclaimer, I'm a foundation whore, on a quest to find a miracle foundation what turns me into Beyoncé and/or Grace Kelly circa 1955 ).

Hi!
I have the Dior Forever. It is the liquid, to give it the full title-Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup.
I have nearly finished the bottle and have just purchased another. I found it light and long lasting. I like a light and light reflecting "dewy" look as opposed to a "matt" look. This is provided by the Dior.

I did use YSL foundation before, can't remember which one, but again it was 'light reflecting". I liked it.

I got a sample of the Chanel VITALUMIERE recently, and I didn't like it either. Heavy and matt.

msarsebiscuit it's the liquid I am after not the compact. It sounds as if I like the same sort of coverage as you and woopsidaisy: dewy and not too heavy.
Thank you

In that case, sorry Cartoonjane, I've only ever had the compact one ( and Dior Nude in the liquid - that's very lovely, another sheer one ). I can't do Chanel foundations, they make me look like I have jaundice.

I have had the liquid one and i like it. It did last and looked good in all lights. The nude one is also very very lovely....oh and the clarins long lasting one is really nice too....

Tried to find a shade in the new YSL one that worked but they all looked "dirty" or odd on me- just not for me!

I've got it. I like the formulation but I struggled with finding a shade to match. The lightest one, that I bought under persuasion from the SA and a weak will, and never use, is too light and the next one up was too yellow for me. It lasts well and looks good on the skin, IMO.

I'm talking about the liquid one in my post above, btw Blush

I have it in my kit and really love it. Only thing I will say is that in photos the glowyness can look a bit too shiny on the T Zone.

Malory, Dior have a numbering system, which I haven't quite fathomed yet but basically it means that the next number up may not necessarily mean the next shade up. It's similar with the Lancôme foundations actually. You may have to skip one or two numbers as there are yellows, pinks and neutrals. It's best if you ask the person at the counter to explain or show you which is the next shade up in the more pinky or neutral tone. If they look at you blankly or make what looks to you a wrong suggestion, get a second opinion from their colleague.

I am on my second day of the new YSL sample. It's hard for me to judge as it's quite sheer for me and my skin is a bit ropey at the moment but I do really like it and may well get some for my kit". I love the fact that it is gel based and has no powdery fillers in it so it doesn't sit on the skin looking all chalky which a lot of foundations can do. Very nice for more mature skins.

kittens thanks for the advice about the shades. Interesting, because the SA who sold it to me was new on the counter, and she seemed more confused than I was. I think I'll go back to a different shop and see if I can get a better match, because it's a lovely foundation.
