MuTu, or 30 day shred?

(Also, where is the fitness board on here? I'm sure I saw one some time ago!)

I have a jelly belly. I'm ok otherwise, but my tummy flabs out over the top of my jeans, and makes me look like I'm 6 months gone with some sort of jelly baby.

I'm tempted by MuTu but the price is high.
30 Day Shred is...short!

I don't want to do some intensive diet because I hate dieting. If I do 30DS, it will be without any diet!

I should add:
2 DC, DC2 is now 1.
I also had a third degree tear with DC2, and things aren't as they could be downstairs...

what is mutu?
I don't like 30 day shred that much but I do like some of her other DVD's. Amazon do a box set - very reasonable. Has 30 day shred in it.

madmomma · 01/08/2012 21:49

mutu, definitely. It's bloody brilliant.

Dolallytats · 01/08/2012 21:57

What is MuTu and how high a price is it?!? My youngest is 4 and I have put on 3.5 stone AFTER having himBlush. Was doing 30DS but did my knee in on day four. Need to do it again, but don't want to hurt my knee again.

c4rnsi1lke · 01/08/2012 21:59

yes I hurt my back doing 30 day shred and I do a lot of exercise. I think it's not very safe.

tittytittyhanghang · 01/08/2012 22:10

I think mutu is by far superior to the 30 day shred for dealing with mummy tummys but at £77 is far more expensive that a £5 for 30DS off ebay. Personally iif money is no object i would opt for mutu.

MrsRyanLochte · 01/08/2012 22:10

I don't know what MuTu is but I can't recommend Saint Jillian of Michaels highly enough. Start with 30 DS (I never hurt my back and I have curvature of the spine and other back-related crap - as long as you start slowly and learn the form before going hell for leather, you should be fine), then maybe go on to Ripped in 30. From your OP once you've mastered those 2, I would give No More Trouble Zones and 6 Week 6 Pack a whirl. Really changed my life. Plus Jillian is a lovely person too (just adopted an orphan from Haiti I think).

And....can I tenatively suggest that you reconsider the diet thing? I can't do diets either but I really didn't see a difference until I cut way back on the white refined carbs and moved to a higher protein with small portions of complex carbs way of eating.

I did a Mutu masterclass and found it helpful but didn't find it easy to stick to the videos. Found the shred easier to follow and very effective. Think maybe I tried Mutu too early after DS was born (3 months) was still breadtfeeding a lot and a bit loopy. Did the shred at 9 months postpartum and was much more ready to go for it..

PrincessOfWails · 01/08/2012 22:23

Ooh, lots of mixed responses!
For those not in the know (!), this is MuTu.

It's the price that's holding me back with MuTu, really. But great responses - thanks MrsRyanLochte for the great advice. And the human side of Jillian Michaels!! Smile

I'd live to try mutu but the price! There's no way I could find that much... Prob only when the kids have grown up lol

MsKayGee · 02/08/2012 09:05

30 Day Shred is £5 on Play.com so worth a go. If you don't like it you haven't spent a fortune. I love Shred and totally have a crush on Jillian.

madmomma · 03/08/2012 08:35

I just did the mutu from the book, so was cheap as chips. What I like about it is it educates you about your phisiology after childbirth, so that when you do the exercises you know why you're doing them and what the muscles are doing IYSWIM. My tummy flattened out very quickly indeed with those exercises, and I had a separation of the tummy muscles.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/08/2012 08:38

I shred, but have got some of the MuTu info from the website which gives a couple of video links as well so I am doing that alongside shred.

brockthebadger · 04/08/2012 11:13

Can you copy the videos onto disks to play on your television? I've only got a lap top which would be hard to watch while doing the exercises. I find watching at the same time, like the shred, gives me an incentive to do it and keep going.

brockthebadger · 04/08/2012 11:15

I meant the Mutu online videos.

chutneypig · 04/08/2012 13:02

I did the 30 Day Shred with no dieting. I loved it and felt great, toned up everywhere but my stomach. It's almost more obvious now. I came across the MuTu link on here last week and am planning on trying it out later this month.

Muststudy · 04/08/2012 13:32

Howlong did you stay on level 1? Could you see results if one just did level 1?

chutneypig · 04/08/2012 13:56

I definitely saw results with level one, both toning and in general fitness. I think I did about 8 days in the end, I got a bit bored tbh and wanted to push it a little more.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/08/2012 14:00

I've just done my first shred.

I am exhausted. For £4.89 delivered off amazon it's worth a punt. It'll do your bum and thighs too. My quads are tired.

Muststudy · 04/08/2012 23:39

Yes i did it for the first time too! Can feel the burn on kegs and arms!

VicarGoingForGoldInKungFu · 04/08/2012 23:48

the shred is worth it imo. i lost 6 lb in 2 weeks, doing the shred. the only problem for me is fitting it in daily with work etc.
