HELP with Laser/IPL - home or salon for specific problem

Any thoughts and ideas greatly welcome. I have a hairy chin (nice!) which is coarse and stubbly and all the hairs grow at a completely different time so it means I am plucking nearly every day. I decided to deal with it once and for all and get it lasered. However I don't want to waste my money and I have concerns i.e. I have to shave in between treatments as they don't want the hair to be pulled from the root, and I understand that hair can only effectively be treated once it is in a certain growth phase. This makes me think that waiting every couple or four weeks between treatments there are going to be a lot of hairs that are past that certain growth phase and therefore that treatment will be ineffective. Whilst waiting for the treatment I have to go through the embarrassment and stubbliness of a shaved chin! I cannot leave this area alone and am very noticeable of the slightest one coming through and it get's plucked immediately so I thought wouldn't it be best to buy a home machine and everytime I feel a prickle zap with a laser/IPL Machine? Can anyone recommend a good machine? I am happy to pay the price for a decent one as the salon charge for 6 treatments is going to be £350. I also want my upper lip and underarms done but I can handle the growth/shaving phase of these because they don't really bother me as much as the chin.

I had it done a few years ago, under arm though. It worked well, but its not gone completely. I went to clinic so maybe have a free consultation and voice your concerns? They might be able to offer some ideas?

Have you looked at the Philips one on amazon I think that was £350 and then you could do legs etc as well, reviews are good.

I have a hairy chin too, I bought a home Boots soft skin thing but didn't find it worked very well. You can use it every week because its not as strong as the salon ones.

I got laser treatments through skin and they made a great difference. They are expensive but I saved up Tesco vouchers. You can only get it done once a month and they recommend shaving before you go which I was worried about because of the regrowth but it was fine.

I had laser treatment in my bikini line. I had no problem with stubble as the hairs fell out. It was better than waxing.

I have the Phillips one, amazing results on underarms, legs and bikini line. They do a newer obs now that is suitable for the face but it is not great on light hair on light skin - thinking if you chin hair is fair?? You could ask advice from salon about that ?? I had I'll in a salon which made no difference for me yet the lum obs has been fab!!

I also have the Phillips one, it's is very good Smile I was very hairy before and would have to shave every other day If i wanted to wear skirts! But now I havnt shaved for a week and could defiantly get away with wearing a skirt.

Mine doesn't do the face, but I am thinking about trying it on my face anyway Confused

Within a couple of weeks my underarms had only a few hairs left! I have patches on my legs where hair still grows but before I have three hairs coming out of each follicle, It is a massive improvement and I would say one of the best things I have ever bought! I have had mine about two years now and still use it because the results are so good!

Sorry I mean to add. Years ago I had laser done at boots on my underarms and bikini, it worked but after a few months came back, so I would defiantly go for home use!
