hairdryer recommendations needed

My current hair dryer is about 8 years old, and I've noticed that I lose lots of hair on my brush whilst drying my hair.

So I was wondering whether technology had moved on in the past 8 years or so and whether there were hairdryers on the market which are kinder to your hair and scalp?

Can anyone help, before I go bald!

I have one that you put a vitamin block in (it goes on the front) and it blows these onto your hair, and it leaves it shiny and smelling nice. this one but mines was £20 out of tkmaxx! although would sell it 2nd hand if anyone is daft enough to pay £300!

I love my Parlux.

Another vote for parlux. I have the 3200 and it's great. If I properly put my hair into sections to dry I don't even need straighteners.
Are you using a shampoo/conditioner for heat treated hair? Is your hair bleached? That can affect condition of the hair. Maybe try using a protector on your hair before you dry it.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I'll investigate the Parlux.

I like the idea of the vitamin block thing, but not the idea of £300!

wonI use shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair, and use regular leave in treatments. My hair is dyed, but not bleached. I'll investigate protectors too.

Thanks all :)

Parlux - changed my life!

valiumredhead · 01/08/2012 08:35

I have the 3200 model - £55 on line from Look fantastic iirc - cheaper than Amazon or ebay.

FIFIBEBE · 01/08/2012 08:45

Got my Parlux from Sally's hairdressing supplies for about £55. They are amazing.

My parlux is my best friend

heres the imetec vitamin one at a more reasonable price

mummysmellsofsick · 01/08/2012 19:17

Ooh do I need a parlux? Is it really all that much better than my 10 year old babylis one which was £20 from Argos? I didn't know a better hair dryer = better hair

WonaLotteofMedals · 02/08/2012 12:37

It is very good and I think less damaging. My hairdresser always says what good condition my hair is in and I blow dry my hair everyday. My hair is dyed and has bleached highlights.
