When are you traveling and where are you going?
How long is your flight (overnighter?)?

PetiteMum · 27/07/2012 23:39

A simple knee length jersey dress with cashmere wrap or cardi...

permaquandry · 27/07/2012 23:39

Just 2 hrs, off to spain next week, with DH and young DCs. I know it's doesn't seem a big deal but we normally go out of season and I wear jeans etc. This time I wanna go summery and trendy. Ta

Two hour flight you can more or less wear anything you like. Bring a cardy, as the air con on the plane can be brutal.

SugarBatty · 28/07/2012 07:59

I was going to ask a similar thing! I normally wear my heaviest things so my case is lighter, then see more glamorous peeps at the airport and feel [envy ]

Windsock · 28/07/2012 08:47

The flight is an hour!!!

Windsock · 28/07/2012 08:49

Ok then two hours. Don't think you need wardrobe advice. Loll

miche8 · 28/07/2012 09:27

if traveling with young children make sure you take a change of clothes for yourself and them in your had luggage, like leggings and a vest, my daughters nappy leaked when she was sat on my lap and my son managed to spill his drink over me and all i had was spare clothes for them, don't recommend wearing white either, have a great time.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2012 10:35

I'm going to be wearing a jersey maxi dress, a little cardigan, flat glads. Will have socks and a pashmina in my bag.

I've got lipbalm, a tiny perfume bottle and some eye gel in my carry on, so that I can pretend to be glam at least!

gregssausageroll · 28/07/2012 10:49

Those items need to go in a plastic bag through security though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/07/2012 10:52

Yes, I know. I have a little Muji zipup clear bag for them.

ujjayi · 28/07/2012 12:52

This is how I dress for a flight (in fact I have those exact same harems - Hush is fabulous :) ) but I wear a cardigan instead of blazer. I always take a pashmina with me together with moisturiser for my face and hands.

singaporeswing · 28/07/2012 13:51

I was just about to come on and ask the same question, but for a 14 hours flight, stopover in Dubai. Any ideas? And for what to carry in hand luggage too? No kids, just me! Size 10/12, 5ft 9.

Windsock · 28/07/2012 15:18

It's like asking what to wear on a train.
Weirdos

ENormaSnob · 28/07/2012 15:38

I just wear the heaviest stuff I want to take so I can get more in the case.

permaquandry · 28/07/2012 17:22

I just fancied some s+b inspiration, this topic is for people who are interested in style/fashion etc. May be quite basic enjoyment but tis enjoyable, none the less. Thx for the replies, got some nice tailored floral trews from Topshop. Happy with them!

I know what you mean - I always dress 'comfy' for flying, and then get to the airport and feel utterly scruffy. This last time I flew I wore a black (and vair slimming) jersey maxi, ballet shoes, a little linen blazer and a big cotton scarf. And felt like a million dollars AND was comfy (carried lovely snug socks in my bag to change into on the plane.)
