So I have just started packing for dd and I and it is super light - what have we forgotten?

Going for a week in Greece.

Have packed -

beach towel each
all toiletries/suncream etc bar dd's makeup and my mascara
mozzie zapper stuff
plasters/headache tablets/tampons etc
3 pairs of shorts each
about 6 camis each
2 beach dresses and one sarong each
2 day dresses each
4 evening outfits each
2 cossies each
1 pair shoes each (and will have another pair each to travel!)
3 books each (and will then mix and match)
1 sunhat each
sleepwear
underwear

I like to travel light but have I forgotten anything obvious? Do we need anything else? Any spare capacity will ultimately be filled with more books!

Hairdryer.
Beach bag.

Ooh holiday packing is exciting- have a great week!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/07/2012 18:05

Thank you. :) Beach bag is in the case already but weighs nothing. Don't think we'll bother with a hairdryer - it will do dd good to have to cope without a hairdryer and straighteners/curler for a week!

Sunglasses and camera will go in carry on bag. Flip flops = sorted.

Guide book = notes in a notebook, taken from the internet! Phrase book is a good idea - will get one tomorrow.

Stuff for a dodgy stomach?

DowagersHump · 27/07/2012 20:15

Sounds good to me :) I've crossed reffed against my list and I also have phone + charger/kindle+charger/ipod+charger

Hairbands

Other than that, it's pretty much the same as mine (only I don't do 'evening' outfits :o)

LittlePandaBear · 27/07/2012 20:20

evening bag?
jewellery?
passports?
tickets?

BerthaTheBogBurglar · 27/07/2012 20:24

I've spent all day packing for 5 of us to go camping for a week in the UK - I'd have swapped my packing list for yours!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/07/2012 20:37

Evening outfits only means cotton skirts/dresses that won't be covered in sand - nothing dressy! Deffo won't need an evening bag either.

Stomach stuff - done

Hairbands - done

Tickets etc will be sorted and put into carry on bag tomorrow, as will dd's i-pod. Stupid question - how do you charge it when away? Normally she sticks it into the USB on the computer I think (techno-idiot alert).

The only jewellery I wear is an armful of bangles, and I'll be wearing them to travel in.

Do I need any more clothes?

Deck of cards

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/07/2012 20:56

But Seventh - you can never have too many books (or even enough tbh)!

Cossies will dry really quickly on past experience and we're unlikely to need cardigans on past experience too - but will have one each from travelling there. Spent hours yesterday trying to find a bikini/cossie so deffo can't endure trying to do it again! We each have one bikini and one costume and I'll rinse them out each evening (aha: travel wash is what I've forgotten!).

Will shove a couple of light tops with sleeves in. Pack of cards too.

You can get a charger that plugs into the wall (get a UK one and a conversion plug - more useful long term)

Thanks DH. Have got a conversion plug - where does one buy a charger thingie?

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/07/2012 21:05

And no, Seventh - that is NOT fun! Last year I ended up reading a Shopaholic book and an appalling Nikki French abomination when I'd finished all of my own THIRTEEN books.

Sorry - that sounded stroppy. I forgot to :)
