Rainy day mac- frumpish.
Skye jumper- enooooooormous.
Emma tunic dress- weird folds on chest area where is crosses over ( or is that just me?)
Velvet 3/4 length coat- not a nice shade of Mole.
Chinos- not special and will find cotton trousers cheaper I think.

Waiting for the 60s skirt but not holding my breath.

Has anyone got the cable knitted dress? Someone must have as it's low stock and i want one as an exchange.

No - not just you as far, as Emma tunic is concerned. Mine has just gone back too.

Must admit I thought those vast great swathes of material could be a bit dodgy on the website, though ordered it to try anyway. But they are dodgy in RL too. Very unflattering. Why can't they just make a simply cut tunic?

MissFoodie · 26/07/2012 18:50

I got rainy day mac and love it, obv without hood, perfect for work

luvlyjubblyclothes · 26/07/2012 18:53

What kind of work do you do where you need to wear a mac? :)

So sorry your order wasn't good LJC, my stuff was lovely. I have the rainy day mac and I'm really pleased with it - got the silver lilacy colour with black leaves and it will be great for work and trips into town on rainy days. The cord jacket - navy- has a beautiful lining and lots of lovely stylish touches and my notch necked top is great too. I am really impressed with all of my parcel for the first time ever. DH also had a parcel which I think is the boiled wool coat for my birthday present, so I'm hoping that will be as nice.

There are a few reviews up already ( my review for the mac went straight on) and they do seem to be very favourable so far. For me Boden seems to be back on form.

luvlyjubblyclothes · 26/07/2012 19:06

Oh dear.

I do have the boiled wool coat from 2 seasons back and love it. Was tempted to buy another but have 2 winter coats and can't justify another.

Most of mine will be going back. I ordered some dresses, wrap and drapey, styles I wouldn't usually wear and they were sooo frumpy on - made me look years older. Floppy cord skirt was a bad shape on. Bloomsbury top made me look around 8 months pregnant. Charlotte top reminded me of a hospital gown. Heeled Chelsea boots are beyond uncomfortable.

The Emma Tunic wasn't too bad, it's a maybe. DH thought it was the best of the bunch. Straight leg jeans are okay on, not a bad shape at all, just not sure about the length.

And this, can't decide. Is it really dumpy or, if styled with the right top and boots, could it be a comfortable easy-wear casual skirt? If e answer is the latter, what do I put it with? I got the charcoal so am guessing a black fine knit jumper? I've got flat long black boots but maybe it needs a heel to keep it out of frumpsville? Would welcome advice on that one please.

Still waiting on two tops.

All in all, I don't think I've ever been so disappointed with a Boden order. However, my bank account will have a healthier balance Grin!

MrsRogerSterling · 26/07/2012 22:13

Hmmmm, mines not arrived yet. Think I will email them and chase up! Anyone get the smocked tunic dress?

Luvlyjubblyclothes · 26/07/2012 22:55

Sorry Millie but I think the skirt is awful.

Has anyone got the skinny leg cords, or the seamed jeans trousers?

The skinny cords are showing a 34 inch hip in a 10 which seems tiny. I usually buy a 10 in Boden trousers but my actual hips are 35-36.

I'm hoping that there may be nicer offerings in the winter catalogue which comes aboutt 6 weeks later. No nice knitwear this time and not nice colours- can't even see a T shirt top in a nice colour!

Stilll waiting for the 60s skirt and hope it might be okay.

Thanks luvlyjubbly - no need to be sorry! I was swinging between dowdy/frumpy etc and 1980's back in fashion again! Back it goes.

MrsBovary · 26/07/2012 23:40

Oh no I've ordered the Skye jumper. The sizing is quite large then?

I've only received a green cord kilt and a plain long-sleeved top so far (still waiting on the rest of the items to come back in stock/to arrive). Teenage dd says the skirt looks rather luminous but I think it's fine Blush

Does anybody have the Hannah dress? I'm still unsure whether to order.

Has anyone ordered the pimlico bag...seems quite cheap for a Boden leather bag so I'm a bit Hmm.
Also the mohair cardigan, are they scratchy?
I used to buy quite a lot from Boden and the sales used to be great but have been quite disappointed the last couple of seasons, I only bought the canvas bow wedges from summer and a rainy day mac (which I love) from last year.

MyMelody · 27/07/2012 08:31

Oh I love the rainy day mac, I'm really pleased with it.

Luvlyjubblyclothes · 27/07/2012 09:13

Am I the only person in the world who doesn't love the Rainy Day Mac? Confused

I had high hopes for it, but decided on me at least it looked middle aged- well, I am middle aged- but it didn't do me any favours at all. It just looked dowdy.

I couldn't imagine wearing it for city shopping or socialising, but neither is it country-fied enough for winter walks in the country.

I could see how it's something you might fling on for the school run, or similar, but it's not really for me.

I really do love the rainy day mac, really impressed with the quality and I think its very versatile. I love the detachable hood (I do love a hood on a coat, so many nice coats never have hoods), love the fleece lining, its not too bulky, smart but casual, I just love it!

higgle · 27/07/2012 13:37

Me too, I hung it up where I could see it this morning and stroked its little fleecy lining... I am very sad.

happierhigherstrongerwheezing · 27/07/2012 13:42

I love my rainy day mac. Mine had to go back because the poppers came off after a month.
I'm wondering if they will send my a new one as a replacement. I've asked for the falling leaves one. It is a wonderful coat.very useful for the school run.
I like the skinny cargos, the peterpan colour blouse and the knitted dress is lovely.

Elliptic5 · 27/07/2012 16:54

Has anyone got the skinny leg cords, or the seamed jeans trousers?

I got the skinny cords in grey and they were not skinny at all, loose round the waist and hips and more like a straight leg - really disappointed after last years coloured skinny jeans.

TuttoRhino · 27/07/2012 16:59

I'm keeping my rainy day mac. The breton stripe top is going back though.

Euphemia- just wrap a scarf round the outside if its very windy, always works for me.

Meggles76 · 27/07/2012 18:04

Ordered a couple of tops the other day. The grey spotty one out of stock til august and the breton til September. This drives me mad about Boden.

MrsBovary · 27/07/2012 18:51

Reading this, I'm rather tempted by the rainy day mac (probably in black) and the boiled wool coat (in grey or navy).
Another preordered lone item of mine has been despatched, apparently, the Emily skirt. Fingers crossed that I like it.

OlivesTorchStreak · 27/07/2012 18:58

I think the cut off Boden clothes is dreadful. The coats are always so boxy & the trousers give you saddlebags.

I used to order loads and loads of stuff from them and it all just got sent back. The free returns offer must cost them a fortune.

The only thing I used to keep was the velvet trimmed long sleeved t-shirts, which I liked, but they shrunk like a bastard.

Boo to Boden.
