Has anyone used this?

UV Plus Day Screen High Protection SPF40, 30ml £30

Been using Clinique City Block 25spf for years and generally happy though the SPF 40 one is chemical not zinc oxide- and the Clarins seems non chemical.

I am still geetting sone tanning to my face and want to avoid - anyone used anything wonderful? it's for under make up every day- not lying on the beach.

Hi Ameliagrey I'm based in USA and see a dermatologist every year for mole checks she gave me a list of suncreams which are actually approved there are very few....anyway just dug up the list and one they recommend for daily wear on your face is Lancome bienfait UV SPF 50 plus

Yes, I use the Clarins one in summer (& City Block 25 in winter). It's the best non-chemical sunscreen I've found for the face so far. I have a tendancy to breakout but haven't had any problems with it. It's light, absorbs well & doesn't leave that white ghostly glow (which means it does contain nano-particles if that's a concern).

There are a couple more high factor non-chemical sunscreens you could consider - Dermalogica Pure Light SPF 30 (I found it a bit tacky on the skin & left a white glow), La Vanila SPF 40 Face Cream or La Vanila SPF 40 Baby Block and Josie Maran Argan Oil SPF 40 Daily Moisturiser. Sorry, not sure if the La Vanila or Josie Maran are available in the UK though. I liked the La Vanila stuff but find it hard to get hold of so am sticking to the Clarins one!

BTW, the Clarins one is OK with makeup & you can also put it right under your eyes (not too rich). I think physical barriers are supposed to go on last but can't really see how that would work well.... I usually just put on the sunscreen, then a bit of tinted moisturiser on top. Seems to work!

I'm having a great time with the La Mer face sun cream. SPF30 and protects against UVA and UVB. If it doesn't protect against both then they aren't worth buying.

The la Mer one works like a primer, doesn't block up my skin and doesn't feel greasy. I'm a big fan.

Avene Sunscreen for face 50+. The best. It goes on a bit white, even though slightly tinted but soon sinks in. My skin is very easily irritated by sunscreens but not this one.
