Best curling tongs

Not sure if they're called curling tongs still, but I'd like to buy some really good curling tongs. My hair is dead straight and doesn't hold curls easily. I've googled and Herstyler seems to come out well - but you have to use a glove which I'm not sure about - has anyone used these - do you get used to it? Any other recommendations.
Thanks!

The heat protection glove is fine I have one. I have a curling wand but always use my ghds to curl my hair and hairspray to hold my curls. YouTube when you have a spare few mins and type in 'hair curling tutorial' you find loads tips so much easier than attempting yourself first time.

I really want to try the Enrapture Encode Totem Styler, so many beauty bloggers use it and it gets fab reviews.

Amazon has it on offer - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0069IB6RI/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=10339759509&ref=asc_df_B0069IB6RI might have to treat myself!

Have you also tried using your hair straighteners to curl?

Everyone I know uses GHDs to do lovely looking waves/curls, but I just can't seem to master it myself!
I have this babyliss waving wand which is fab for looser curls, more like waves rather than ringlets. Like you, my hair doesn't hold curls very well in general but I found this to be very good. It comes with a heat protection glove.

Thanks for your replies - I don't have hair straighteners, but have tried using my friends ghds and wasn't very successful. I thought I'd be best going for ceramic tongs as thats a similar quality to ghds but for curling. I was expecting to pay ghd prices to get something that worked, but maybe thats not the case?
