Help! Wax streip malfunction - desperately stuck and need help NOW!!!

Blush Please mumsnetters can you help me.

Asked hubby (as I have hurt my neck and back and cannot twist around very well myself just now) to help me wax the upper backs of my legs(thighs). Was using my normal wax strips and all was fine and dandy. Had some cheapo make ones in the same box and all they did was deposit a big strip of wax on the back inside of my thighs.

Have spent an hour now trying to get unstuck. My thighs are pretty much stuck together (ouch) Blush. I have so far spent ages massaging in afterwax lotion to no avail. Tried a cool/luke warm shower with a gentle perfume free gel. Slight improvement but not much.

I have a tub of immac warm wax (microwave stuff) in the cupboard and paper and fabric strips - shall I apply that ontop and see if it will peel it all off or will that make matters worse?

Am seriously sticky. I am sure I will laugh about this at some point but struggling to right now!!

Help!

warm bath? surely if you have it as warm as possible the wax will turn to liquid??? just guessing though

HazleNutt · 24/07/2012 21:37

I did this when I was a teenager - I stuck my armpit down. My mother made me walk to the local beauty salon on the high street to be unstuck.

yy olive oil do the trick

you might smell a bit salad-y so easy on the basil Grin

I am pleased to report I am finally unstuck and would recommend any future wax strip victims use olive oil to unstick themselves.

Thank you.

Grin thank God you weren't attempting a brazillian!

Grin

I thought it would be a really good idea to wax my legs outside, yesterday - as it was so bright I could see all the hairs that needed to be waxed. However, it was so hot yesterday that the wax on the strips quickly went molten, thus leaving most of it on my legs rather than the strips! Thankfully it came off by repeated use of the strip itself - but for a moment it was a bit tricky.

Glad I wasn't doing my bikini line.

Although I obviously wouldn't have been doing that in the garden, I suppose ...
