Matches sent me the wrong size ... can I do anything?

I ordered a beautiful YSL ring in the sale but Matches sent me the wrong size, and it's too big. The ring is now obviously sold out. Does anyone know if I can do anything apart from returning it (and weeping)? The rational 10% of my brain knows they can't really magic up the ring in the right size if they don't have one, but the other 90% of my brain is livid that they couldn't put the right item in the box.

The same thing happened recently when I ordered a pair of MIH jeans from House of Fraser - they sent me men's Diesel jeans! Again out of stock by the time I got the order through the post.

May be I should give up ordering online.

Any ideas?

There isn't much you can do now but maybe they would offer you a voucher for the disappointment? Could a jeweller alter it?

Ask them to resize it for you? Any decent jeweller should be able to make a ring smaller.

Thanks for your replies. I hadn't thought about getting it resized

However I just noticed that one of the stones is missing anyway, so it looks like I will have to send it back.

Sigh

Call them and explain - they may get some of the right size returned, and they could prioritise you getting one to make up for it. Worth a try.
