After about two weeks of lovely weather, the skies opened. DH and DD1 got really wet at funfair - I'm lounging wearing chambray and fleece-lined chunky cableknit cardi/hoodie from Zara (super-Natural, my style antithesis, but just as comfy as I thought it would be).
Have pinned with vengeance because rain bores me. Love Pinterest, better than magazines - fashion mags seem so old when they arrive with the same ideas, though reading Vogue was good - I think I understood what trendy bits I might want to do in the fall (something burgundy or plum, flirting wi Edwardian silhouettes, and perhaps investing in a lovely skirted tweed coat - the Burberry one is perfect but ????).
Went to a Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition the other day - was fascinated by photos of her and her clothes. The paintings came here all the way from Santa Fe. Have been there once, right after 9/11, for work - needed to drive to another city, didn't dare to rent a car, ordered a limousine at a tiny B&B. The girls at the reception said "your car has arrived, ma'm" - a ginormous white wedding stretch limo (as seen on Pretty Woman) had arrived (prince not included)
Rufus we need pics! I had my hair done yesterday, it felt strange and overdone but now I love it and am 100% happy. Hope you will be as well!
MiM enjoy your social life, the weekend sounds fab!
Verity what are you making?
Fritzi I'm with you - curves, what curves? I used o be an A cup, now B post 2 DC and wear strapless bras everyday (and can go without in a pinch). Hated it during puberty and was very self-conscious. All my life people have told me they envy my body shape. Hmmm, I'm not convinced I'd pick Bambi legs and a matchbox shaped body and a giraffe neck (I'd of course prefer to be a voluptuous hourglass). My preference for full skirts is dictated by my shape - I need to create the illusion of curves unless I want to look like a Giacometti statue.
Bloss I come from a family of very thin people and have realized that past 40 extreme thinness is very ageing. DH has a not-so secret crush on Anne Hathaway, boo. Guess how many times he has watched The Devil Wears Prada
