WowNY. Not surprised you feel choked up.
We are supposed to meet friends for a bite to eat tonight. I pleadingly said to DH that surely he wouldn't be up to it (hasn't been home before midnight any day this week) but he was gung ho. It's his friends birthday and we don't get to see them much, so would hate to pull out. Sigh.
What a bloody day. Rain. Rain. Rain. I'm completely insppropriately dressed. Bare legs. Suede sandals. I do have a brolly though. [feels smug for once as I never have one usually!)

FritziGreenEyes · 03/08/2012 13:12

rufus Can you sneak in a nap before you go out tonight? I almost didn't sleep last night too. Full moon and DH being restless...

notyummy Sounds amazing! I'm sure your DD will remember this day forever Smile. Thought of her the other day when I watched the gymnastics with DD on TV.

bloss Are your parents back from their holiday? I agree with others that wine might be a safe strategy to make things go smoothly with your friends on holiday.

DH has announced that he has invited a colleague and his family over for a BBQ tomorrow and I am dreading it although they are really nice Blush. I am currently lying in bed with crippling period pain and a hot water bottle. Don't feel like conjuring up plans for entertaining people tomorrow.

ollie Have a great time with your sister and enjoy your goodies!

mim What a terrible thing to say of your boyfriend! I'm sure he is balding and has a pouch by now.

I was very self-conscious all through my late-teens and twenties about my lack of cleavage. My worst experience was a saleslady in a bridal shop who told me that I need a decently padded bra or I wouldn't be able to find a dress that would fit or would look nice. I wore a dress with a low back and went braless in the end.

AmberNectarine · 03/08/2012 14:37

God I would love to go braless! Funny how we always want what we can't have. Sunny here all morning apart from a couple of mins drizzle at the park. Was with friends and their DC and all the kids came running back to shelter under umbrellas etc, except my DS who pulled the collar of his tshirt up over his head as a makeshift hood and carried on. Sigh.

AmberNectarine · 03/08/2012 14:41

Funny how WIT, who was so gung ho, and 'not for me the pedestrian maternity jerseywear' is now resorting to Isabella Oliver... I hate to say I told you so...

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/08/2012 14:49

I just hope WIT brushes up on her maths soon - 34 weeks is not 8.5 months pregnant in my book.

WIT was hanging out near my birthday, at the same place I mean. She is tiny.

AmberNectarine · 03/08/2012 15:22

Yes I was pregnant for 42 weeks first time round, so she might have two months left yet!

girlsofsummer · 03/08/2012 15:27

I have had Fever things before although not for some time. They are good quality for the price I think. Often on sale.

girlsofsummer · 03/08/2012 15:44

Good and bad things both sides of the boobs fence I think

blossoming · 03/08/2012 16:13

Sorry to hear about the lack of sleep rufus and fritzi. Hope you both feel better soon.
I have been feeling disturbed recently every time I see Anne Hathaway. There is a photo of me looking very similar: too thin, head too big, hair cropped too severely. Reminds me of an unhappy time.
fritzi, my parents are back in the country from France tomorrow but not coming home till after we've gone. Then they go to Germany at the end of the month. Dad wanted to swim in the cold Atlantic!

MidnightinMoscow · 03/08/2012 16:15

Just hope that WIT is geared up for the last few weeks, when you think you cannot get any possibly bigger...oh yes you can! I thought about that Marsha when I read her post from there, I remembered you'd been there too that day.

Hate that feeling of tiredness Rufus, I remember it well on night shifts - I used to feel sick with it. Maybe a shower and a glass of wine to pick you up for this evening?

Sounds fantastic NY, have tried to catch some bits on the TV today. Judo was fabulous!

We have a busy weekend ahead, which is good as it takes my mind off the mess. (Did I tell you we are having a loft conversion done?) Grin. I am out tonight for drinks and dinner with girlfriends. Tomorrow we have a fun day at DS's nursery, not very exciting, but he will love it. Then tomorrow evening we have friends over for dinner, who live in Edinburgh but are here for the Olympics. We don't see them as often as we would like to, so it should be a good evening. Lots of outfits to consider.

rufus101 · 03/08/2012 16:37

Have a good night MIM. Well deserved. You are so up on the domestic airmiles.
In the hairdressers at the mo. (am trying out someone new) She was saying what she thought would work "blah, blah"(hairdresser speak. Totally goes over my head) I showed the Claudia pic Bloss, she said "yes, that's exactly what I mean". We. Shall. See.
I'm never happy coming out of the hairdressers.

blossoming · 03/08/2012 17:57

Post a pic rufus!
What a great sounding weekend mim. Enjoy!

alwaysrunninginheels · 03/08/2012 18:08

ooooo Rufus hope she/he does a fabulous job!!!

Grin at WIT's 8.5 month pregnant at 34 weeks. .

DonaAna · 03/08/2012 19:33

After about two weeks of lovely weather, the skies opened. DH and DD1 got really wet at funfair - I'm lounging wearing chambray and fleece-lined chunky cableknit cardi/hoodie from Zara (super-Natural, my style antithesis, but just as comfy as I thought it would be).

Have pinned with vengeance because rain bores me. Love Pinterest, better than magazines - fashion mags seem so old when they arrive with the same ideas, though reading Vogue was good - I think I understood what trendy bits I might want to do in the fall (something burgundy or plum, flirting wi Edwardian silhouettes, and perhaps investing in a lovely skirted tweed coat - the Burberry one is perfect but ????).

Went to a Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition the other day - was fascinated by photos of her and her clothes. The paintings came here all the way from Santa Fe. Have been there once, right after 9/11, for work - needed to drive to another city, didn't dare to rent a car, ordered a limousine at a tiny B&B. The girls at the reception said "your car has arrived, ma'm" - a ginormous white wedding stretch limo (as seen on Pretty Woman) had arrived (prince not included) Grin

Rufus we need pics! I had my hair done yesterday, it felt strange and overdone but now I love it and am 100% happy. Hope you will be as well!

MiM enjoy your social life, the weekend sounds fab!

Verity what are you making?

Fritzi I'm with you - curves, what curves? I used o be an A cup, now B post 2 DC and wear strapless bras everyday (and can go without in a pinch). Hated it during puberty and was very self-conscious. All my life people have told me they envy my body shape. Hmmm, I'm not convinced I'd pick Bambi legs and a matchbox shaped body and a giraffe neck (I'd of course prefer to be a voluptuous hourglass). My preference for full skirts is dictated by my shape - I need to create the illusion of curves unless I want to look like a Giacometti statue.

Bloss I come from a family of very thin people and have realized that past 40 extreme thinness is very ageing. DH has a not-so secret crush on Anne Hathaway, boo. Guess how many times he has watched The Devil Wears Prada Envy

rufus101 · 03/08/2012 20:02

Very pleased with haircut. Have pinned a pic. Which is of course awful as I take the worst photo ever. But I will return. She wouldn't do the side way fringe. Said it wouldn't sit. I know it would drive me mad. I've had it many times.
I'm an a cup and remain an a cup despite 3 DC. I never go braless. You could hang a jacket off my nipples. Always feel self conscious. Blush

blossoming · 03/08/2012 20:04

But she is so beautiful in TDWP dona. It is now when she's looking gaunt for a film role that is scary! I don't know who my DH has a crush on. Someone from an indie band probably.
How gorgeous is Jessica Ennis?

MarshaBrady · 03/08/2012 20:13

Dh loves Maggie Gyllenhaal, and some blondes I can't remember. I agree with him about MG she is stunning.

I've seen TDWP so many times too. She is pretty in that.

Luckily I've never wanted big boobs, as I don't have them.

blossoming · 03/08/2012 20:25

Where's your photo rufus? Have a good night out.

MarshaBrady · 03/08/2012 20:32

MiM have a fabulous weekend.

Rufus great you are happy with it, can't see the pic, mine is nearly long enough again!

ReineDeSaba · 03/08/2012 21:19

Just popping in to say we are off to the States tomorrow.Am clearly not going to be able keep up with the epic posting.

Just watched Jess Ennis with a glass in hands, lots of crisps Hmm and a tear in my eye..

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/08/2012 21:25

Oh Jess - she's my body double you know Wink

God - watching the olympics is a full time job I tell you.

D cup here but that's a b in old money I reckon.

AmberNectarine · 03/08/2012 21:35

Currently rocking a 30F. Bloody ridiculous. Hoping to revert to my more sensible DD post bf...
