GoS, nice buys. Sorry about the kitten.

Verity, yes, he is off all week though has to check in every now and again. You look lovely in the cobalt, btw. I like those red trousers.

Nice bag, Marsha and great about Christmas plans.

Ollie, forgot to say, I do have that top in navy and like it. May get it instead of the Hudson jeans which definitely are too big.

Hi everyone, I'm having a day to myself. DS is at football, DH and DD are at MiLs. Just till 3, then chaos will resume.
I have been mostly cleaning and clothes sorting. Am embarrassed by many 'wrong' purchases. Less since my style day though. Not sure what to do with them though. If I take them to my local charity shop, am I going to see people from here wearing them, or do they all go to one big depot? If not, I'll take them to a textiles bin I think.
Glad you had a good time out yesterday decam. It's lovely when that happens. Mine just act up the minute DH comes in the door. It's a wonder he comes home at all, it really is.

blue2711 · 31/07/2012 13:21

bloss a day to yourself, lovely. My DC do the irritating opposite: behave like angels the minute their daddy appears. Most annoying as it gives credence to his theory that my life is easy peasy Hmm

Aah to kittens gos. Sad for no 4 though.

I have serious Olympic fever. My nephew trains with Sam Oldham in the gymnastics team so even more exciting. We're off to London on Friday for the beach volleyball and a night in glam hotel. Can't wait but what on earth to wear? Am torn between wanting to wear new pink Zara boots and be extremely stylish (because I'm a country bumpkin visiting London Smile) and being worried about being cold. And DH is planning on lots of walking!

I am very much liking these leather leggings

Please everyone pray for an end to this rain; we have a bouncy castle booked for DS's birthday party on Sunday... [worried]

Oh, art. Our only original piece was painted for me as a thank you present by a very lovely and talented A level student. Just waiting for him to get famous now!

OllieinOrange · 31/07/2012 13:24

My two are acting up big time this week. I literally dumped them in the Ikea play area for an hours peace this morning after they ran riot round the Mini showroom (opening and shutting doors, clambering in and out of doors - all in front of the sales person). I couldnt get out of there quick enough.

On a brighter note, managed to pic up a cd of summer pop songs DS1 has requested for his birthday. You know they are growing up fast when things like that start appearing on their wish list. Felt quite sentimental buying it - but then liked the thought of being able to put the Thomas the Tank songs cd in the charity shop pile Smile

Did a Boden order this morning which included Bloss's trousers, whute layering t and the pretty (hopefully!) Georgette top.

notyummy · 31/07/2012 13:37

Blue - all the advice on attending any of the Olympics events has mentioned 'really comfortable footwear'.... Will they be wearable all day with potentially miles of walking? The main tube line crashed this morning and people had to walk 4 miles to the venue.

Russianred · 31/07/2012 13:46

Afternoon all. Thank you for all your lovely wishes - I dragged myself to the GP this morning and have severe tonsilitis. I then fainted on the way out Blush. Am back in bed as really can't bring myself to do anything. Have eaten a bit, but it hurts like hell. DC are now giving DH the runaround as he is largely entertaining them with the TV. Seeing as he has been looking after them solo I feel a bit bad instructing him to get out of the house, but might have to soon. Might make the IKEA suggestion to him Ollie. Suburban I hope you're feeling better soon.

How funny Dona, my mum is heading to St Petersburg tomorrow.

Kittens sound so cute GoS. Sorry abut number 4.

Hi Red glad you are feeling better.

Think DD2 may have chicken pox we will see....

girlsofsummer · 31/07/2012 13:52

oop sorry see you are not feeling better sorry Blush

girlsofsummer · 31/07/2012 13:53

Bloss you could list them on MN you would probably get takers

FritziGreenEyes · 31/07/2012 14:25

Have arranged playdate for DD at short notice. Three girls running riot and shrieking up in the garden while I'm trying to hide on the terrace behind sunglasses and hat. There have been tears already and still more than 2.5 hours to go Confused

No S&B news to report from here. Have an urge to declutter my wardrobe and reduce to minimal capsule. I love getting dressed from a suitcase where all items are co-ordinated and there is no dithering over what to wear.

Better stay outside in case there develops a fight in the tree house.

Want to go to St. Petersburg and buy art for our house now. Smile

DonaAna · 31/07/2012 14:47

RR hope you get well soon - how terrible! GoS hope the kittens will find good homes and that DD2 gets well soon.

DH just left - he is going to a major rock concert tonight and will be back after midnight. Should do something constructive with DC, such as walk to the library or bake muffins (we got some lovely cases for them - with kitten patterns!). But feeling oddly lazy and melancholic, post-travel blues most likely. Hate being the one stuck at home with DC, so un-me. Will dedicate a lot of time to my toenails tonight Will get new highlights on Thu, can't wait. I'll be photographed for a newspaper (dull work-related story) and need to look good. Idly wondering what I should wear... Watermelon silk DvF top and skinnies? Or Marni coat and Zatchel? Or COS Evil Stepmother top? Will be an outdoor shoot, want to look stylish and dynamic.

Blue don't wear the lovely shoes to London, if you haven't worn them a lot already. They will hurt your feet and you'll only grow to hate them Do you have any comfy wedges? Ey are my go-to shoe style when I have to combine comfort and style.

Oh and DD1 would love the bouncy castle.

Bloss I have lots of old wrong purchases in my cupboards as well. I realized around here most shops assume people are Naturals - and while those clothes look wonderful on many, they coudn't be farther from my personal style. The other prevalent style is boho retro (I mean 1970s retro, not Mad Men which I live) which also doesn't look good on me. Could reject 100% of vintage market finds this morning because they were either Natural or Retro.

DonaAna · 31/07/2012 15:05

Oh and Fritzi Piter is a lovely city, very much worth visiting. Would go immediately as it is very close to us and I can hear the ship horns honking but have pesky boring visa issues. Reading a lovely travel book from the early 1990s perestroika era instead (found at MIL's library) - cycling through Soviet Union. Oh how I'd love to take a slow train to somewhere really far away... Also love the meditative rhythm of this travel book by a German journalist.

AmberNectarine · 31/07/2012 15:45

red that is exactly what happened to me a few weeks back, tonsillitis and public fainting. Hope you feel masses better very soon!

FritziGreenEyes · 31/07/2012 16:04

red Just re-read your post. Shock at fainting! How awful. Hope DH takes the DCs out for a few hours and you can recuperate.

The bickering girls have descended onto the terrace. I'm wondering if it's too early for a glass of wine. Wink One hour until pick-up...

OllieinOrange · 31/07/2012 16:41

GOS for a moment I thought you meant that Bloss could sell her DC on MN rather than her unwanted clothes Smile

Red tonsilitus is grim. Try and drink lots and rest, rest, rest. Hope the ab's kick in soon. Sending you some Thanks

Fritzi Im having a similar afternoon with my two. I may have just phoned DH and asked in a squeaky voice, what time he was planning on coming home this evening - which is my way of saying 'pllleeaassse come home NOW'

My sister and her DC arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to my Tesco goodies - and to seeing her of course.

MidnightinMoscow · 31/07/2012 16:54

Red poor you, how awful. Hope you are on the mend soon.

I have made a massive achievement today. Drove alone to a big town, needed to go on the dual carriageway and then park in a multi-storey. Am feeling very proud of myself!

Had a lovely day with DD wandering around the shops. I was very lucky that I had a Topshop gift voucher, a Whistles gift voucher, some Ebay funds and I was paid last week...yippee! So I came any with the following:

These shoes from Zara which I think Blue has?

These shoes and this blazer

these cheapy pumps from H&M and these leopard ballet pumps - they are very good quality for the price.

I also got the Whistles boxy breton that Bloss has. 'Tis lovely and well wear it loads.

Thanks for the code Decam, but have decided to shop from the wardrobe for Friday night now. Might be a purchase for next month though.

Lovely to hear of the kittens arrival GoS, but sorry to hear of no. 4.

MidnightinMoscow · 31/07/2012 16:55

Fritzi, it's never to early for wine in the MiM house.

What have you got coming from Tesco ollie?

Good news about Christmas Marsha.

blossoming · 31/07/2012 17:29

Well done on the driving mim, and on the shopping. Great haul!
So sorry you're poorly red. Hope you feel better soon.
I saw someone from the creche/kids club when I went to pick up DS. I am seriously thinking about sending both of them there for a few days before we go away. They are driving me insane.
Hope the afternoon ended well fritzi. I have realised that I have had more than the government recommended units recently and am due a few nights off the vino. The thought of it is making me slightly panicky. A sure sign I need a break from it!
As for my clothes, my days of listing are long gone. I'm just going to pack them up and get rid!

blossoming · 31/07/2012 17:56

It is really funny how many photos of Tom Daley are on Pinterest today. To me he is still a boy, and it's just wrong, wrong, wrong..

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/07/2012 18:03

I quite agree Bloss. I actually find the 'perving' over him quite distasteful [old lady]

MIM - lovely buys and yeay for the driving.

blossoming · 31/07/2012 18:13

leaf pendant for ollie

alwaysrunninginheels · 31/07/2012 18:19

red hope you feel better soon!!

alwaysrunninginheels · 31/07/2012 18:25

Listening to DD sing in the bath while I paint nails.....am hoping she is singing "body body body" but it sounds suspiciously like "bloody bloody bloody......" Mhhhh!

AmberNectarine · 31/07/2012 19:00

Some success today:

AmberNectarine · 31/07/2012 19:07

Oh FFS....

Bought some lovely midnight blue, mid-heeled courts from R&B for work,

These ballerinas from Banana Republic in black, so comfy!

this grey T and this very similar purple one, great shape and I liked the satiny trim. Good work staples.
