Skirt for an apple shape?

I'm desperate to find a skirt to suit me but they just don't sit right. I'm a 12/14 am 5'2" and had a hysterectomy 5 weeks ago so my belly is still really swollen and sore. I've been living in pjs and leggings but now the weather is hot I want to go out and look reasonably nice :) I'm just after something casual and inexpensive as I'm hoping my belly might go down but I don't have a waist at the moment. Any ideas ladies? (ps I can't trawl the shops for hours as I can only manage an hour or so before tiring or being sore). Thank you.

I don't think skirts really suit apple shapes as well as dresses do - maybe try on some empire line dresses in stretchy drapy fabric, they will look fab now and will continue to do so if you drop some weight. I just find skirts emphasise my least favourite feature (waist, or lack of) and it's hard work finding tops to go with them.

I'm apple and can only wear straight/pencil. A-line are terrible on...

My best ones tend to be denim for some reason.
