Do over the bump ones fall down less than under the bump?
Are mamas and papas ones any good?

I prefer over the bump but I think it's each to there own. H&m do a good variety. Never bought from mamas and papas.

I've got a pair of next over bump ones on right now. I still have to pull them up now and again, but I find them much more comfortable than under bump jeans. They tend to dig in a bit in me.

Not sure about mamas and papas jeans. Have had their linen trousers but they went kind of mid bump. We're comfy though, but very long.

Ime unless they are the good expensive ones with the adjustable tabs, like noppies, they all fall down. A bit of fabric over a bump isn't enough to hold them up.

PrimaBallerina · 22/07/2012 10:14

I have under the bump Leigh's from Topshop, which are very stylish and comfy but once my bump was really sticking out I only got on with my over the bump ones from Zara and H&M. These are all skinnies btw.

So as a general rule I'd say go for overs unless you're happy to buy a few pairs.

Don't know about M&P though sorry.

I got some lovely under bump jeggings in Mothercare for £12 the other day

ellangirl · 22/07/2012 10:28

Over bump fall down less, and you don't flash your bum at everyone then Grin My next overbump are ok, but you need to size down as they go loose quickly. They should come with adjustable tabs at waist too though, as they are a bit loose round the under bump bit too. Buying more expensive ones like alice says might be an option if you could resell on eBay. I always heard good things about h and m ones.

Over bump are better for staying up later in pregnancy, none of them are perfect though. I have some Red Herring ones which seem to be the best I tried.

bishboschone · 22/07/2012 11:08

Next do really nice ' on the bunp' ones . I didn't get on with over or under but these were so comfy . They have a wide stretchy band that sort of sits half way up your tummy . They stayed up quite well too !

Chinateacup · 22/07/2012 11:58

I had M&P under bump and they were great. Also some JoJo overbump which were really good too.

AmberNectarine · 22/07/2012 12:41

Over the bump were the only way for me. I tried myriad maternity jeans: under bumps from next, Topshop, M&P and Isabella Oliver, of which next were the best, but my over bumps from Boden and H&M were my favourites.

well, I went and tried on some over the bump ones, and they were just the wrong shape. I think for the same reason I cannot wear high waisted jeans. They gaped massively at the back, which seemed odd, as I don't have a particularly large bum, and my lower back is not as curved as it will be later on. And bump is not big enough yet for the over bump thing, which was not so much up to my armpits but up to my ears. alice I think you are probably right, that the over bump bit is not going to stop them falling down. It also seemed very lumpy. Anyway, I got a pair of underbump ones for £20 in dorothy perkins sale which are very comfy for now, and if they get uncomfortable once I am bigger I'll reinvestigate. Thank you all for your input.

Under bump M&P skinnies were fab and did me from 4mo to the end. They were such a good cut I wish I could convert them to non-maternity jeans, as they were really flattering on my legs and really comfy!
