Right these

Seriously they are a fucking crime. Was at a party today where one of the mums was wearing them. She may has well had a dog walker fleece on. There are more stylish slips ons out there. STOP IT!! If you don't know what frumpy is, well you do now!!

My DH is impossible, he likes me in my sloppy shapeless yoga trousers (I don't do exercise, they are just comfy).
They are soft to run his hands over and cling to my ample arse.

We met as students in the early nineties, baggy jumpers and leggings era.

I agree with perplexedpirate, it's foolishness to think that people don't judge you on the basis of your appearance - your subconscious does it even if you're not actively thinking about it. I don't think wearing these shoes would be considered offensive for gardening or walking a dog. I do think if someone has taken the effort to throw a party then you should demonstrate your respect and appreciation for that effort by changing out of your fleece and fugly shoes and putting something respectable on. Whether fashionable or not is down to the individual.

Ghandi had a great sence of style IMO.

He wore very cool sandals, without socks.

I do think it is harsh to judge someone's shoes in particular, of all clothing it is choice of shoes that is limited most by physical disability.

I have to wear frumpy shoes if I want to walk, I could wear some wild shoes if I gave up and moved about on wheels but I'm not sure that's a good decision.

Could be worse could be fucking Uggs and leggings under a dress.

I heartily disagree with this. You may judge others on their appearance but not everyone does that. Clothes and fashion etc are fun to me but not of massive importance; I like to look nice (well what I consider nice) but some people are just not interested in how they look or what they wear. And I do think that 'looking nice' is subjective.

One of my closest friends could not give a rats shiny one what she looks like or what she wears as she is too busy rescuing various animals and creatures. That is her passion. She turned up at a party we had last year fresh from wrestling some creature from a tree and I couldn't have cared less what she wore, I was just glad she was there.
