When did bootcuts with ankle boots become so hideously out of fashion then?

Just trying to reflect back....

I wore them proudly in about 1998! My first work suit I bought in 2002 has the most hilariously date boot cut trousers too.

Not sure my memory goes back that far...

whenever it was skinnies came in. [useless]
