Help me buy some new jeans, please!

I have recently lost 1.5 stones and my current pair of denim jeans (a cheap, 'while I'm losing weight' pair from M&S) are too baggy and definitely don't do me any favours.

I'm 5 ft 2 in, size 10 now. Short body but average leg length. I don't have an hourglass figure - have always had a relatively large waist size.

I prefer not to wear shoes with heels, although I have some lovely wedges that I sometimes wear.

What should I look for, oh lovely MNetters?

well done on the weight loss!
I am a bit shorter than you and like Topshop Baxter jeans as they come in a shorter leg length.
Primark do some great skinnies for £9!
My other favourites are a pair of River Island sexy bootcuts which I've had for six years (live and die in them) and they look great with wedges.

I hate going to Topshop though - makes me feel really ancient! I might have a look online - thanks.

See if you can find something in the sales.

Size 25 is a smaller than a 10 but look at this jbrand bargain.

BIWI · 20/07/2012 19:51

Blimey - £200 original price!

I really like nw3 by Hobbs jeans and I believe some of those are in the sale now. I wear them all the time and just bung them in the tumble dryer when they start to lose shape.

OneLittleBabyTerror · 20/07/2012 20:48

How old are you? I'm over 35 and love the topshop Baxter too. Give it a go! Being size 10 there are a lot of stuff from topshop that will fit well!

BIWI · 20/07/2012 20:55

Nearly 53 ...

I know BIWI. I never pay full price on jeans these days.

OneLittleBabyTerror · 20/07/2012 21:01

I guess topshop can be a bit daunting if you are over 50! I think I'm always the oldest in there but I have a boyish figure so womanly clothes shop just don't fit me. So I'm used to it.

No way I will buy jeans for £200. Baxter I'm sure is around £40. How about gap or h&m?

mewkins · 20/07/2012 21:12

Gap always skinny are great but they also do dozens of other styles so bound to be something that suits. Wait for a 30pc off voucher though to get a decent discount. I am a size 10 but get a Uk8 as gap comes up quite large these days.

Clure · 20/07/2012 21:18

TK maxx always worth a poke round. I got some very nice Firetrap skinnies from there, as well as a pair of straight leg Diesel jeans both less than £20

germyrabbit · 20/07/2012 21:19

zara?

Nobhead · 20/07/2012 21:26

Topshop Baxter jeans fan too here.Have H and M and river island jeans but my topshop ones are by far the best fitting. I'm a size 10 with a curvy bum.

ineedsomepeaceandquiet · 21/07/2012 01:33

Another GAP jean lover here. Cheap and very flattering. I am a 10/12 and love their skinnies Smile

Birdspa · 21/07/2012 02:02

Does anyone else's Baxter jeans keep slipping down? Drives me bonkers and yet I love the c

Birdspa · 21/07/2012 02:04

Love the colour and weight. The Jamie style looks great, wonder if they'd be better?
