quick haircut question...

I have long crappy hair so i want to get it cut into a bob. Just below chin length, no layers, tapered at the ends so it curves under nicely and not cut in at the back. I don't want it longer at the front than the back. and that's it really.

would a hairdresser know what I mean or are there particular types of bob that i should know the name of?

i can honestly say that i have never had a decent haircut that i've been happy with. I've been to countless hairdressers and i can never seem to get across what i want. I've tried taking pictures of what i want but tbh, a bob shouldn't be that hard surely?

I do question what they are doing while they are doing it but I think because my hair is so thin, even though i don't like layers they seem to sneak them in anyway!!

Is there some special hairdresser language i need to learn?!

Why don't you take along a picture? I know some hairdressers don't like that but I'm not really sure why, my sister who works as a hairdresser said a colleague always used to say to customers who brought in a picture of some celeb " Aye I'll try to make your hair like that but remember its a pair of scissors no a magic wand!!

I think that hairdressers love cutting layers. I tell them very clearly that I don't want any layers. It sometimes usually works.

I have taken pictures before but I never seem to get the same haircut. maybe i'm expecting too much but I honestly just want a boring old bob this time. It shouldn't be that hard should it?

I've seen a lot of women with those graduated bobs lately. i think that's what you call them where you have very short hair at the back which tapers down quite long at the front. This is what i do not want so i suppose i'll just make that clear and hope for the best

and yes hairdressers adore layers! why? Hmm
