Where is the best place to sell gold jewellery?

Hi. Following another jewellery thread in this section got me thinking.
I would like to sell my old engagement ring and wedding ring. They are from my now ex husband and I have no use for them.
They weren't expensive,an Ernest Jones engagement ring (£500 in 2003) and a simple 18c gold wedding ring (£100 in 2003).
Shoud I just go to a high st independent jeweller or a pawn shop?
Thank you

Independent jewellers usually.

Shop around and get a few quotes.

Weigh your jewellery to see how many grams of gold/white gold you have and then google the current scrap metal price. This will tell you how much it's worth per gram so that you can be sure you're not getting ripped off.

If your diamond is good quality and reusable you'll get money for this too obviously!

Hope you can get something nice with the money!
