I'm pretty new to Style and Beauty and most of the things posted aren't my style so thought I'd see if there were any like-minded people to share inspiration etc with.

I wear pretty much exclusively monochrome clothing...mostly black and grey...drapey cowly type things etc. To give an idea I've mentioned two labels I like.

I scour ebay for bargains as I can rarely afford full priced pieces...

Does anyone share my passion for all things gloomy (but beautiful and stylish)?

I'll post some pics to give an idea of what I mean.

This is the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo range form H&M...I would own every single bit if I could...

Yep you sound like All Saints number one customer!

All sludgey coloured weirdly shaped rags Wink

We most likely won't cross paths. I wear only dresses, mostly va va voom super feminine 40's and 50's style tea dresses/sun dresses/wiggle dresses and nearly always floral Grin

Just saw your link! Would work on Lisbeth.......but no! Those trews on the left are hilarious!

Do you have that whole edgy androgynistic look going on?

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 17/07/2012 22:09

I like tea dresses in some cases...I seriously considered Candy Anthony for my wedding dress (but was far too skint) and I love the whole rockabilly look, so dresses aren't my enemy Grin

I wouldn't say I was androgynous...I'm too curvy for that (I wish I was skinnier). I am quite edgy though I suppose. I have half a shaved head and white blonde hair and LOVE black kohl a little too much.

I did chuckle at "sludgy coloured, weirdly shaped rags" Grin

It's not for everyone...I admit that

Ha, you sound a bit like me...I love All Saints (tho I hate myself for it as the quality is usually shockingly bad, despite the prices). I was also musing the other day on the fact that when I open my wardrobe pretty much everything is some shade of greyGrin.

Having said that I definitely wouldn't class myself as androgynous, more slightly rock chick. Can't resist a bit of sparkle and am having to rein it in a bit before looking like a drag queen Wink. If money no object I would own pretty much everything Zadig & Voltaire do.

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 17/07/2012 22:44

I like a bit of sparkle also, and I tend to have mad colours in my hair. I have to admit that some of my All Saints pieces are disappointing quality wise, which is why I tend to get them from ebay, or in their (amazing) sales. I got a Hitch skirt for £17 from ebay (normally £90). I also have a Spinelli skirt which I practically live in.

I got these recently and don't ever want to take them off

I'm like Sleepwhenidie. I wear a lot of All Saints but a lot of sparkle too. My wardrobe is mainly grey & black but it's a big wardrobe with lots of animal print too. Mint Velvet have some nice monochrome stuff in. I have the Ali knit tee & Evie scarf.

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 18/07/2012 07:44

Ooh I haven't heard of that monkeysmama, I'll have a gander.

I wear all saints but I'm a girly type. Dh wears it too.

AmberNectarine · 18/07/2012 08:37

I like the style of some All Saints stuff, but the quality is poor and if I'm going to spend £90 on a T shirt I'd rather get it from T Alexander Wang or Helmut Lang.

Sleepwhenidie · 18/07/2012 09:31

Ooh I love Helmut Lang too Amber, I have a few fantastic bits, including, funnily enough, sparkly black legging jeans and a charcoal asymmetric top.

Sleepwhenidie · 18/07/2012 09:33

Scarlett what size are you? I have a couple of All Saints things I was thinking of ebaying, size 12 tops...

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 21/07/2012 08:34

I love Helmut Lang also. I can't justify paying full price for All Saints stuff, so ebay is my friend. I'll have a look at your things sleepwhenidie, I can fit a size 12 depending on the cut, but I'm normally a 14.

I also love Gareth Pugh...I'd sell my grandmother for a certain pair of his boots.

Oh I am drooling over the stuff on that site

Absolutely love all saints, but only buy from the shops in the sales as i cannot justify the prices (unless it is a present from my husband, in which case i dont care). Tk maxx have had loads of all saints in recently, i have bought tonnes of skirts, dresses, jackets, its slightly shameful how much ive aquired!

DontmindifIdo · 21/07/2012 12:27

I want to love All Saints, but often when I get a bit close it all looks a bit cheap quality for the price. I think Mint Velvet is very good, and you get a Mumsnet discount (or at least you used too, might be worth checking the partnership offers bit).

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 21/07/2012 14:54

Oooh I must look in TK Maxx. It never occurred to me to look in there!

susiefen · 21/07/2012 22:11

I love All Saints and almost caused a riot on here by suggesting I wear one of theirs to a wedding! Have to say quality not great but I love the style. Currently agonising over whether to buy the leather skinny jeans in the sale (although have the legs for them am conscious of age - mid 40s)...

Sleepwhenidie · 21/07/2012 22:47

Hey Scarlett, I am on hols for about 10 days but will send pics when I get home.

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 22/07/2012 07:52

Thanks! susiefen some of their dresses are perfect for weddings (A good friend of mine has recently bought one just for that purpose), don't listen to 'em Grin

But then...I wore black to my wedding and had white dreads, and most people would probably recoil in horror at that!

Tk maxx has been running low on all saints lately, but they did have coats and knitwear last week. If you look on ebay for all saints, a lot of the people who are business sellers with buy it nows have bought from tk maxx, so its a good indication of what they have been selling.

Charity shops are good for all saints too, it tends to be cheap as they dont know the brand.
