do nice hair extensions exist?

MY hair is taking forever to grow, I'm sick of waiting. I have thick wavy/curly hair. It's very frizzy and I've found over the years the longer I have it the easier it is to look after. It's currently just past my shoulders, another 6 inches is the ideal length.

I've seen young girls with straight hair extensions, and I think they look horrible! But I'm wondering if you can get wavy ones? They would blend in better, wouldn't they?

How do I find somewhere that would do them really well?

You can get curly / straight / wavy. They look more natural in curly hair imho.
A good salon is important! They'll give you the best match for colour / curl, and cut and style for you. Alternatively, you could try some clip in's, or tape on's that last a month or so. So long as you look after them they can look good.

Yes, you can get good hair extensions. However, I see far more crap ones and tbh, if the average person can tell they are extensions, they are crap ones. (I am a hairdresser and trained to do hair extensions with Racoon and had my own business doing hair extensions, so I have done a lot of them!)

IMO, they aren't really suitable for very curly hair as the extension hair used is crap quality as it has been highly chemically processed.

European hair is comes in varying degrees of 'natural wave' and some can be very wavy, verging on curly. This is the natural state it comes in, although it can be coloured, depending on your natural hair colour.

I have to admit to not being up to date with all the latest techniques used, but I would suggest a consultation at a salon that use Racoon extensions. Because the extensions aren't pre-bonded they can be matched well to the thickness of your natural hair and colours can be blended more naturaly to match your own exactly. A good colour match is absolutely essential.

Hair extensions do require a huge amount of upkeep to keep them looking good though, in terms of salon visits. They also require a lot of upkeep and styling at home. So they are expensive and time consuming. However, done well they can look fantastic!
