What's good from Avon?

There's a lady in my area and she's given me a brochure. I'm a bit of a make up junkie but have never tried any Avon stuff. Is it any good?

Their 'Anew' products are good - have got Anew face power and lipstick and loved them both.

Stay away from any of the 'Colour Trend' stuff, as that's for kids.

I really like the glimmersticks eyeliners.... think that's the name anyway. They are eyeliners with sparkle in them, come in different colours.

Hope that helps! :)

The Supershock Gel Eyeliner pencil is great - jet black, soft and does not budge on waterline or lashline. I'm tempted to try the golden and blackberry shade too.

The Skin So Soft spray body oils are nice too. I have the fresh one (supposedly repels mosquitos) and one with gold shimmer (lovely for nights out on bare legs and arms).

Thanks-I think the supershock liners are the ones the Pixiwoo ladies like. Is it the pencils or the pots that are particularly good? Everything is very similarly named!

Sorry, just read properly and saw you said pencils. Right, am going on a glimmerstick/supershock liner buying frenzy! Need some new ones for my kit and anything cheaper than MAC is worth a try Wink

yes the pencils - just as good as my pot of gel eyeliner minus brush hassle! and yes i bought it after watching a Pixiwoo video!

I've been trying out the Supershock Max volume mascara too (was free in Marie Claire). Wasn't too impressed at first, but i'm coming round to it now Smile Has a HUGE brush that takes a bit of getting used to.

I'm an Avon rep so here's the truth:

Primer, nail polishes, magix cashmere foundation, glimmersticks, blusher, bronzer, hand cream, shower gels, hair dyes and shampoo/conditioners are all brilliant.

Colour trend is aimed at teenagers... Pearl shine is odd, and I wouldn't order clothes. The perfume is okay, I wear the O2 pure everyday. Some of the perfumes are a bit old lady!

Glimmerstick/supershock pencils are excellent, as is their bronzer compact (no sparkles!) and the curlacious mascara. Perfumes are crap.

Marie Claire magazine is giving away a full-size Avon mascara this month. You could try that for starters.

Thanks all. I got the free lengthening mascara with MC and like it-that's what gave me the idea!

The hair stuff is fab. I used the Planet spa hair mask last week and my hair felt amazing afterwards. I also recommend the quick touch leave in conditioner. Its great for easing nasty tangles out of yours or the kids hair. Glimmersticks are great too. The SSS dry skin spray can be used as a mozzie repellant and it smell nice too.

valiumredhead · 17/07/2012 10:03

Glimmer sticks are brilliant and the gel eyeliners stay on really well ime.

gregssausageroll · 17/07/2012 13:32

There is something (body cream perhaps) that works wonders with midgies/mosquitos.
