How to wear brooches

I have just been given a beautiful bee brooch as a present, which I love. I have no idea how to wear it though, can anyone advise me how brooches should be worn? Thanks in advance!

I would channel a vintage style so for example on a 40s style cardigan with a tea dress or on a 50 style jumper with pencil skirt. Also good on coat lapels or cloche hats?

If you don't like a nod to vintage just keep you outfit plain and simple and wear wherever you like!

I used to wear a lot of sparkly brooches pinned to my denim jacket.

I have snood which came with a large brooch attached. It really makes the snood, without it it would be quite ordinary but with it it has style.

Or what about on a lapel?

I have a couple of jackets with virtually shirt collars. Pin something there.

Keep brooches quite near your face.

Also, brooch with no necklace in the day. Bling brooch with very discreet earrings. Unless you're trying to make a point.

Kind of thing.

I always think a brooch looks best with a scarf or just above your left breast on a jacket/ coat.
