Are suede boots practical?

I'm considering buying a pair of suede boots (can't link but they're the Clarks Majorcan Villa in grey) and not having ever owned suede before I'm not sure how practical they are for doing the school run in the rain? I know you can get spray to protect them but does it actually work? Thanks

Spray works pretty well. Just do it outside because it stinks! I have some suede boots, and they're lasting pretty well. Those boots are quite chunky soled, so you'd be fine unless actually wading through puddles!

I've got those boots! Have worn them regularly since last Oct and not had any problems with them. I sprayed them well with protector and I think the thick sole & heel help. The colour also helps to disguise any stains that may occur.

tbh I haven't worn them in the recent rain, but that was purely because they are quite toasty and my feet were cooking!

They are lovely. As long as you spray them regularly they will be fine. When you first get them do 3 sprays allowing the boots to dry out completely between sprays.
