Boden excellent customer service

Boden get a bit of a pasting on here but I just got excellent customer service so thought I'd post about it.

I ordered a pair of trousers which a few days later went in the sale. I was planning to phone up once they'd arrived to see if they'd refund the difference. When I opened them they were obviously a return and the person who had tried them on had clearly popped off the inside button as it was missing with threads hanging.

I rang up, they are sending me a replacement by express delivery, a free returns label so I can send these back and are also refunding the difference between the price I paid and the sale price.

I'm a happy bunny.

I've always found Boden CS really helpful too.

That is good but they shouldn't be sending out damaged returns in the first place!

I agree. I just think that we are so used to poor service that when a company gives reasonable service we are surprised. If they send out damaged goods they should send you a new pair at their own expense as a minimum.

There is something about expecting poor service isn't there? And yes we should expect better than we often get from retailers.

I was expecting to either have to send this pair back first then wait, or, if they were out of stock, which they were according to the website, wait for them to send me a button. I wasnt expecting new pair sent out immediately by express delivery without me sending the others back.

I too have recently experienced what I would class as excellent customer service from Boden. One popper has come off the hood of my rainy day mac, I have had it 9 months. Emailed CS who quickly responded offering a full credit of price paid and sent a free returns label. They also looked into repairing it. It was an expensive buy for me and I was disappointed that it hadn't stood the test of time, but credit where credits due, Boden dealt with this very well. I think alot of companies out there would have quibbled!
