Earring backs

I've got a lovely pair of diamond studs but the backs seem way too loose, as do the backs of my other ones I've tried swapping over.

Is there anything you can buy to tighten the backs up? Or should I squeeze them with pliers or something?

I don't want to risk wearing them while they're loose - anyone got any ideas?

can you use the little plastic bits they use in shops? You know the ones that keep the earrings and backs onto a card? I usually get an allergic reaction to the back so only use that bit. Also you can get a box of earring backs in Claires Accessories, some of those might be the right size.

Should be easy enough to squeeze the butterfly back together to tighten them up, even without pliers. I do it all the time.

Buy these. My mum wears them with all of her earrings.
