Shall I wear this?

I have just bought this dress for a wedding, um, tomorrow. I have other things I could wear but this will be slightly easier to bf in. Not sure if it's a bit much. Too red/black/flouncy? I realise it is all of the above, but kind of felt it was cheerful.
I am 5 foot 5 - size 10 - currently large of nork due to feeding.
Was going to wear it with these shoes but in black and a black bolero cardi - but could also do nude shoes/cardigan.

Or, as I say, I could give up on the dress if the wisdom of S & B says I'll look like a roman blind....

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid....doesn't look very chic, sorry

But if you like it, ignore me

smeraldina · 12/07/2012 20:10

cybbo I think it may not be mine either .... I'm worried the print looks cheap... I was v tired while shopping. And It seems impossible to get 5 minutes without a child clinging to me and possetting on the dress so preventing me from returning it to actually try it on again. I think I hoped I might be doing a sort of 50s vibe, and it fits well...but...hmmm.

I get where you are coming from...I think it's the handkerchief hem that stops it being right

Not mad about it. Not getting a 50s vibe off it really. As cybbo says, if you like it and are comfy and feel good in it, then go for it.

mirpuppet · 12/07/2012 20:16

I'm also not a fan of the handkerchief hem.

But if BF -- needs, must

cybbo · 12/07/2012 20:19

You could get something very simple for £75 that you actually like!

AWomanCalledHorse · 12/07/2012 20:26

I think it will look better than your than on the model, she's in an awful pose & doesn't fill out the top of the dress at all (needs more norkage)!

It would look better with the black shoes/cardi than the nude.

If you are a size 10 with norks then I think it will look lovely. I'd wear it.

smeraldina · 12/07/2012 21:12

right - just managed to try it on - and arrived back to the last three messages. DH likes it very much. Which is a first.
It's not perfect. Agree about the hem. But I think it's better than the alternatives in my wardrobe which will involve hitching my skirt over my head (in order to bf not just cos I feel like it)
It didn't actually cost £75 - it was down to £50.
Still, yes, could probably find something better in Zara.
But the wedding is tomorrow. Baby awakes. Thanks for input both positive and negative - much appreciated.

Well looking at the photos it looks as though you can have the hem down, and I personally really like it like that. I think you'll look lovely.
