So having been through 2 very close pregnancies and surviving on 3 ill fitting crappy bras, I finally got some decent fitting bras :o so far I have 2 and 6 more on order, but how many do I need?
(I'm realizing I may have an addiction to ordering decent bras :o)

Envy am currently in second close pregnancy and surviving on 2 crappy bras. Fancy having 3 to use - get you! Wink

If it was up to me I would have minimum 5 day to day bras with matching knickers of course, then 3 or so others to suit various outfits depending on neckline and colour, complete with matching knickers.

When that happens I will know our family finances have recovered as that is currently about 50th on the priority list of claims on the income.

Enjoy the fun of getting your bars sorted. Congratulations. Grin

I recently went to bravissimo and bought one black, one nude and two sports bras. They fit beautifully and I have chucked all my old ones save for one. I resisted more as I hope to lose more weight and so will go back in a couple of months...

But I ate a packet of fudge earlier so the weight loss may slow down Grin

CakesnKids · 12/07/2012 15:10

Small white, mine are from bravissimo, i think I'm in love with them! My confidence has sky rocketed and I feel so much better. Its amazing what a decent bra can do

Gin bra 1 was gray and I think it was that colour when I bought it Blush, bra 2 had a massive hole at the back and a hole in the side and a hole in the front, bra 3 was massively huge I couldn't actually wear it! Please don't be Envy

OP posts:
CakesnKids · 12/07/2012 15:10

Sorry I don't think it was that colour

Having stopped BF youngest 10 weeks ago, I have just used the sea as an opportunity to buy 5 new bra and knocker sets (2 in light colours and 3 in dark) and took great pleasure in throwing my two grottiest sets away.

I have four other "reasonable" sets.

I wear a clean bra at least every two days but they're all hand wash only so I need enough to last me 10 days.

I also have "special bras" sports/strapless/pretty peach one which is only bra which goes under particular top....

SaraBellumHertz · 12/07/2012 15:12

Used the sale obviously...

GinPalace · 12/07/2012 15:13

OK I'll pack away the Envy face - was joking (mostly) Wink

I'm going to watch replies with interest so I can enjoy (vicariously) bra shopping. Agree bravissimo bra wardrobe makeover is ace fun Grin

SaraBellumHertz · 12/07/2012 15:13

Oh god and knickers Grin I give up...!

GinPalace · 12/07/2012 15:14

I thought knockers-set covered it pretty well myself. Arf!

SmallWhiteWine · 12/07/2012 15:18

On a side note, I always stick my 'hand wash only' bras on the machine on the 'hand wash' setting Grin It was the one and only feature I really looked for when choosing a washing machine. I had one wire start coming loose, but it was a really grotty bra...

brighthair · 12/07/2012 15:59

Not many that fit as so expensive
A black plunge bra
Black lace bra
White and nude plain bras for work
White lace for work

Just ordered 2 more in Bravissimo sale

MrsHoarder · 12/07/2012 16:05

I'm breastfeeding: so 2 lovely beige enormous bras. Then a bagful in the bottom of my wardrobe in case I'm ever one of those sizes again.

Shodan · 12/07/2012 16:09

Um, including sports bras, around 30-35 Blush

I have only recently found bras that fit perfectly so have been buying two every couple of weeks. Twelve of those so far- some cream, some skin tone and some white. All padded, all non-wired.

Two running bras.

About 6-8 sports bras for karate.

Various 'fancy' bras that only get worn occasionally as they're all underwired- black, black lacy, pink and black lacy etc etc.

Two strapless bras- one cream, one black.

In my defence re: the outrageous number of bras I am a difficult fit and I sweat a LOT, so frequently change bras twice a day. The day-to-day ones I wash in a pillowcase on the delicates setting on the washing machine.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 12/07/2012 16:14

About 12, plus 5 or 6 sports bras.

I've had most of my bras for ages and they tend to be decent brands (Calvin Klein, Elle MacPherson, a couple of La Perla) but to come from TK Maxx.

PerryCombover · 12/07/2012 16:17

God
6 or so plus 2 sports bras
I've become v functional in terms of colour just black and beige now

EcoLady · 12/07/2012 16:23

I used to have 16, of which 14 were the same style in 9 different colours! I was 32H.

After recent weight loss (to 30G) I've got just 2 nude and 2 black. I really miss the coloured ones :-(

Freshletticia · 12/07/2012 17:00

Arf at bra and knocker sets
I now have loads of well-fitting ones, thanks to Bravissimo.
I do get them in the sale if possible though as I am a 34GG so can't get any cheapy ones.
5 decos various colours
5 t-shirt ones
4 Cleo - really fab
A strapless ultimate thingy
A few random old ones.
Just chucked out all the Freyas as they make my boobs look flat instead of round.

brighthair · 12/07/2012 17:07

I forgot sports bras Blush of which I have 8 - one is the Elomi energise, 7 are Royce impact free

archfiend · 12/07/2012 17:13

Well, until about half an hour ago I had a LOT more bras than I do now! Just been clearing out a drawer filled with swimwear, nightwear, tights and bras and thought I'd clear out the ones that don't fit. I went for a fitting at a brilliant local shop recently and have apparently been wearing the wrong size for years damn you M&S and your shitty fitting service.

I have just bagged up 17 bras that don't fit! Most of them are pretty old so I think they have just accumulated over the years slattern but still!

I now have 5 bras including 1 sports bra and 1 strapless so I think I need to visit Bravissimo Grin

CakesnKids · 12/07/2012 17:13

Do I need some bras for best, functional and strapless etc? Shock I'm a 30ff and was just buying pretty bras that made me feel better, not really thought about functionality of wearing clothes over the top

OP posts:
CakesnKids · 12/07/2012 17:16

Ooo a sports bra, I definitely need one of those!

OP posts:
SaraBellumHertz · 12/07/2012 17:37

I go for functional and pretty - after converting to Elle mcphersons nursing bras whilst BF I have since discovered that her non nursing bras are super comfortable and pretty do I now have three of those. Sizing is crazy though

Gingefringe · 12/07/2012 18:35

If you are getting rid of old bras, Bravissimo used to take them for African women - I'm pretty sure they still do this - great idea.

MrsHoarder · 12/07/2012 20:21

Oxfam are having a bra collecting drive for selling in the UK and in Africa too.
